Post your Nationality (with Origin)!

Born in the US of A.

Great great grandparents on my mom's side (her dad's bloodline and name: Schirmer) moved here from Germany in the 1800's. My mom's mom is related to William Clark of the famous Louis and Clark.

Not quite sure what's up with my dad's side. I do know that one of his parents is related to the famous explorer Dr. Livingston.... "Dr. Livingston I presume..." ;)

What if they just mistake it for whinning and ignore what you have to say?

Not quite sure how anyone could mistake anything I say for "whinning" (sic). But if you must know, 99% of anything I say that isn't dealing with something technical is done so in a very sarcastic/tongue-in-cheek/satirical manner; problem being that people only realize it about 1% of the time.

Regarding the "Yes, it's insulting" line - to be fair, I consider it rather insulting to be human a lot of the time. And there's a good chance I would hate any country if I lived in it long enough.

And regarding the topic at hand - it occurred to me that I didn't state my origins. I'm not even sure what they are (I'm sure it includes the usual 'I's), but we've been here for 5-6 or so generations (most of which were in the military), mostly located in New England.

Born in Taiwan. My families live here for more than one hundered years (we have some small fields near my current home).

Je suix Quebecois. :) Was born in Quebec though my parents were there for barely a year, then we moved to Labrador.

Oh man I thought she was irish ... whats her maiden name? A lot of quebeckers are of irish descent. Poatatyo famine in the 1840 saw bout half a misllion immigrate thru quebec city... 40 000 died on Grosse Ile where they had to be processed before allowed onto the mainland... mainly they kept those that were sick there to try and prevent the mainland from getting infected... my mom's side has a lot of Browns that were irish kids who were allowed to keep their names when adopted by french parents.

Last name is Clair, but it was shortened from LeClair when George (great great grandfather) moved to Woodstock. I believe Georges was from around Carcasonne or the Basque region. The hair might have come from her grandmother.

Cool I went to Carcassonne in 93... its a very interesting part of France... The accent there is very different from the rest of the country... they strongly pronounce l's and also pronounce every 'n' in any word.

I am born in Brazil. Genetics comes from Italy, Portugal and indigenous Brazil :)

Same here. Add some black people, and nederland blood, since my granpa is from Ceara and was very white, I think his father had blue eyes...

Born in Germany and raised there, whereby both my parents are greek. I tried to follow the family tree all the way back, but I got stuck somewhere in the 15th century. That´s AC for the record; if proper records would have been kept, it wouldn´t surprise me if you could replace the A with a B
