PoE switch help.

Careful, the FS728TS doesn't have any PoE ports. You have to buy the FS728TPS to get PoE, and that's $670 on NewEgg.

Yep, called Netgear for a confirmation on it when someone over at H said the same thing as you.

Finally decided to go with the FS728TP got it from buy.com for $330ish.
What exactly do you need the switch to do?
Its going to serve 2-3 purposes.
--provide power/network for some megapixel security cams ( the 1.3 megapix camera )
--power/network for 2 access points
--connect my video server to 8 xbmc (xbox media player)

I still need to find access points that take poe (not sure if that even exists), if not regular APs should do the trick.

Sound like the Netgear should work fine for that.

Consumer grade APs usually don't do 802.3 style PoE, but business grade ones will. You can also get external PoE adapters to drive cheaper access points.
