Yeah I've been playing some games from recent years that I haven't tried before. But I'm looking forward to Rage, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Hard Reset and the third Mass Effect, my favorite interactive movie series lol. Also looking forward to DaggerXL and DarkXL being more complete. ;)

Fox, sometimes I feel nostalgia gets the better of you. Sure there is a lot of lowest common denominator corporate trash out there, but not every modern big-budget game has to be trash.

    Doom 4 is years away.

Also the next AC game isn't really AC4... They did a trilogy within the series dedicated to Enzo or whatever the fuck his name is, but AC3 is still coming.

    Weird, no?

That depends how you define bad games. Bioshock for example isn't a bad game, not particularly good, just average. A lot of today's games are like that. Anyway, we are going OT. :)

    7 minutes of in-game footage:

I dislike the bobbing HUD, hopefully there is an option to make it stationary.

    Nice, detailed preview:

I get more excited by the minute. It looks very interesting. And judging by the video it actually looks really good as well.

    Finally good preview!
I like what I see

I need one of these games to jump in when not playing online matches.

Looks like it'll be entertaining. Classic scifi corridor shooter, but it looks to have some style and flash probably. Makes me want to go work at Exodus from the Earth some more.

Great quick look. I love the look of the game. Just look at the main menu. Such a love letter to pointless excess:grin:

I just hope there will be a bit more to it than just shooting robots in pretty environments with hardly any context to it. Seems like such a waste. Just look at the scenery at minute 21. I really want to know more about this world. (even though the imagery is ripped straight out of Blade Runner)

I deliberately skipped watching the video because I don't like to spoil myself before playing a game, but the bobbing HUD in Metroid Prime was highly immersive in that game IMO. It aided the suspension of disbelief, along with stuff like seeing my own face reflected on the inside of the visor at times, seeing my own skeleton sometimes when the X-ray scope was activated and so on.

So while I don't know how the bobbing HUD works out in this game, I'm not categorically against it. I may go as far as saying I'm nostalgically biased in favor of it... :)

I like that they've copied Doom 3's in-game interface interactions.

As long as that's the only thing they are copying from Doom3 it's all good.

That was a really good feature in D3 I don't think anyone else besides I think Dead Space has implemented since then.

    I don't like RH/shields @ 1:06, 2:27, 4:10 and "strawberry jam" when getting hit.

Strawberry jam is the worst. Hate that misguided design quirk.
