    No idea.

    I can't believe PC Gamer gave it a 94.

Is this just an extremely good troll, or has Bioware gone insane?

PS. Bioware did go insane ... they actually took someone's games away for 3 days because he said ""Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?". Wonderful Bioware ... fucking gits.

The Bioware guy's response was that the ban was forum only, yet he claims to not have access to any of his Bioware games.

The statement he was banned for: "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?" He is a long time Bioware customer and fan.

Neither confirms nor denies but it implies that they could do what the poster claims was done.

If true then they deserve widespread derision. Imo.

It's a vague response, which would indicate that the poster is being truthful.

I wonder what kind of laws governs this.

I think you're misinterpreting it. The Bioware forum response indicates that the ban he received came from EA not Bioware.

I meant truthful in the sense that he really was banned from playing the (single player) game he bought for a harmless forum post.

It's always best to have separate accounts for games and for forum activies. For games that require account I just make a dummy account.

Hmm... I wouldn't buy games from a company I couldn't trust not to ban me from playing the games I bought over a forum squabble.

Squable all you want, just don't do it on a forum run by EA. So much shit gets posted on the Bioware forums I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

so I did. Not game of the year material, but good enough to convince me that my earlier comments about hate filled morons and angry group think was pretty much right on target.

Because being reviled is good for profits? As I said, they went insane ... this is blowing up in their faces. I considered doing an "I am Spartacus" post for a moment, but the way /v/ was picking it up it was immediately obvious it wouldn't be necessary.

They should have simply said "I will examine if your representation of events is accurate and if so lift the ban". Not "we can do anything we want MUHAHAHA".

Hate? Perhaps for some. But for most, like me, it's disappointment. That they stripped out almost all the good PC things that it had in order to make it more appealing to console gamers. That they dumbed down the conversation system and and made your visible reply choices have virtually nothing to do with what your character says. That they were too lazy to even apply uniform graphics for NPCs even though they specifically changed the camera to force you to be closer to them and thus unavoidable to see how badly they were modeled and textured. I could go on and on.

I absolutely loved DAO as many of these others did. That DA2 ended up a steaming pile of disappointment certainly will engender some form of backlash from the very people who bought DAO and loved it but the developer instead chose to give the middle finger to in order to woo the console gamers who mostly rejected the first game.

No, Bioware brought all this on themselves. I'm not angry. I'm very very very sad that what I had originally thought would be a classic franchise will instead devolve into mediocrity. I suppose I could blame EA for ruining the franchise, but ultimately it was Bioware who agreed to sell the company to EA.

    Regards,
    SB
