    Erm..as pointed out earlier in the thread: Crysis 2 has been pulled out of the list of DX11 games on NVIDIA's website... (and all mentions of DX11 support in the games description too)

    kyleb, you're roasting Crytek for something that doesn't warrant it.

    Okay. So how does NV showcase the GTX 590 with a DX9 game?
    Also, I thought Crytek was on-record that DX11 would be added with a post-release patch?

    Anyway, that's my tin foil hat prediction :)

    Yeah it does seem all messed up. Note that Crysis didn't anything about the DX11 besides the little mention in the german interview. And this was before NVIDIA pulled Crysis 2 from the DX11 list last week. It just looks like it's not ready at all.

    That about sums it up for me :) I think Witcher 2 and BF3 and Arkham City are about the only immediate day 1 buys for me.

    LOL. GTX 590 beats the 6990 by 2:1 in Crysis 2 on Hardware Heaven - in DX9!!
    Must be all that DX9 optimized metal in Fermi :)

    I'm there for 2 out of 3 of those games, though BF3 does look good. I'm just not into shooters these days, and military shooters in particular bore me. But the previews for BF3 are impressive looking/sounding.

    Arkham City looks really good, just hope the dev doesn't get carried away adding too many additonal moves and gadgets to the Bat's repertoire.

    Maybe the game was fast tracked and DX11 put on the back burner in order to get the game out? DX11 is probably a low priority frankly because of it being a fraction of a fraction of their target audience now. A depressing fact of life these days.

    That's beacause CF don't work proper, at least on HD6xxx series, yet.
    Renaming to afr-friendlyd3d (flicker can occur) or Bioshock skyrockets the framerate.

    Also

    cl_fov 70
    r_DrawNearFoV = 70
    pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov =70
    g_skipintro=1
    i_mouse_smooth=0

    simple add the lines in the cfg-file

    makes the game a bit better ;)

    Yeah but DX10 GPU's will run on the DX11 path which is basically the entire PC market now. Creating the game in DX9 when every PC gamer has a DX10 capable PC already makes no sense aside from making things easier to work with alongside the console versions.

    Basically every PC gamer suffers so that Crytek can save a bit of man power.

    Maybe in 2007, but practically all gaming capable PCs now can take advantage of DX11. Crysis 2 is DX9 because of the consoles. Not even Crytek could argue otherwise.

    Shogun 2 Total War is also just a DX9 game for now and is going to get a DX11 patch, so as one can see, Crytek aren't the only one skipping DX11 at launch...
    And Shogun 2 is a PC exclusive

    Hate to sound like a broken record here, but is there anyway to enable aim assist for the MP for gamepads?

    I mean via config files or something.

    Since Crysis 2 features cheat detection, I doubt it as that's a gameplay affecting feature rather than just affecting visuals only.

    Very odd decision by Creative Assembly, but at least they're taking the DX11 path seriously.

    Roasting Crytek? WTF Laa-Yosh, is Cevat Yerli your mother? :lol:

    Seriously, it's a good game, with flagrantly borked reflections all throughout it. Again, you haven't even played the game, have you? Regardless, you can't provide an example of any other game with such messed up reflections that they literally follow you around the map, can you?

    Just started and I have to say, with some proper AA, is SSAA possible?!! please (I'haven't find a way yet) and some POM or tess, it will be a nice looking game. I just wish there was a way to enable SSAA and get rid of the objective assists.

    The harsh reviews are a bit off, the consolization hase taken please but it's not the end of the world as the end product still way above the averidge.
