It's solvable but it doesn't bother me. Though custom configs should be applicable else it will be ridicolous. Though Crytek sure droped the ball.

"Crysis 2's 3D tech is unbelievable. If other games can do 3D this well, then we're on board."

Looking up what reviewers are saying about Cryteks final 3D implementation it seems Cameron (Avatar movie director) after all was honest when he credited Cryteks 3D solution.

    "Shots fired!"

I have a feeling it's probably an anti-piracy measure, the idea being that if you pirate the game, you'll be able to play it, but not at its full capacity, and you'll have to go online and have your copy verified legitimate before being able to access the rest of the features.

In other words, stop bitching that it's not on the disc, and just go download it from Crytek's site once the game is released. We've known this was going to happen to DX11 for months now, why the sudden whining when they do the same thing with the editor?

Other than that, just accept the fact that we're second-fiddle this time around. Crysis 2 isn't for PC gamers, it's for console gamers. Look at the fact that the console C2 thread is getting a hell of a lot more traffic than this one.

It will be released separately for all and for free.

There's a difference between accepting it and being happy about it though. At this point most people have accepted the PC version is little more than a port, doesn't mean we have to be happy about it though. Especially after all the talk Crytek has given us over the years about being huge proponents of PC gaming.

Regardless of the "console port" issue, there's no doubt that what we'll be playing is superior to the consoles. I'm sure we'll see a plethora of screenshots and videos that will show that clearly enough once the game is released.

What baffles me about the argument is the idea of boycotting the game, and people saying that they've canceled their pre-orders for the stupidest of reasons. For one, I think a lot of it is hot air.. these people haven't canceled a thing, and they'll be there day one at Best Buy or anxiously awaiting their Steam download to finish just like everyone else. Secondly, the idea that people would actually prefer to not play the game at all because of something like a missing map editor? Really?

The complaints about the map editor really get me.. how many of the people complaining even use the thing? There's a couple million people out there with the editor, and there's what.. a couple hundred homemade maps? Most of which are utter garbage? I've played with the Sandbox here and there, but I've never made anything worth a damn, and I'm not afraid to admit it. It's a developer's toolkit, and I'm not a developer.

Legit? Supposedly from retail. This goes beyond the 3 previous presets, "gamer", "advanced" and "hardcore". Btw FYI I said a v.h mode would be called "extreme" month ago.

Where did you find this? Those who received their pre-order are all saying that there's only 3 modes like in the MP Demo and Beta.

Edit: Just double checked and apprently the game stiill can't be launched (?) so we don't know how the menu looks like (so I guess that the previous reports were BS..)... Let's wait an see.

Edit 2: Just found the source of you screenshot: http://www.gamersmint.com/crysis-2-has-an-extreme-graphic-setting-on-pc But again one has to wonder if it's fake cause the game can't be launched before March 22.

Oh come on Nebula, You cant be serious that You believe that fake 3D is better than proper 3D? You've just got less information when recreating image, how can it be better?

My friend actually played in Killzone 3 in 3D and said that everything has depth, even every magazine clip in ammo box, You just cant recreate that with fake 3D. He even said, that he was comparing Avatar in 3D and Avatar had objects that werent rendered with depth and Killzone does.

BTW, anyone knows when EADM copies will be activated for downloading?

I'll take it with some salt but end result is what mathers and it is impressing reviewers. About fake and real 3D reminds me Crysis 2 lighting and most lighting in console games are fake HDR as in not true FP16 HDR. Doing it by the books is not necessarly the best or give best resuts as it is also how it's implemented and how it is experienced.

They quite clearly saw the two on entirely different 3D displays ... that review isn't really worth quoting apart from making fun of.

Killzone drops down to half resolution in stereoscopic mode (slightly higher than PAL resolution).
I have no idea which is the lesser evil (lower res or fake 3D), but it's not a question that can be answered without having compared both variants directly.

Apparently the three modes were changed for retail to good, very good and extreme. At least that's what some people are saying.

    Crytek devs, GTFIH!

What the f* is going on with preset labelling?

All say they got gold version but some say "good. very good, extreme" others "high, very high and extreme". Then from some other sources the same as demo.

Well, Crytek's silence on this matter (and DX11 support) is what's causing all this drama..
