Woo woo, off to pre-order. /happy_dance.

BTW - Am I the only one that is driven bonkers by the following.

    1. You are logged into Steam. You go to product page in Steam while logged in. You are asked for your age. Couldn't they just remember it in your bloody account? :p
    2. You are logged into Steam. You go to buy a product while in Steam. You are asked for your account login. Hello? I'm logged in you blithering idiot. :)

Did you try it? It had some serious problems. If they plan on releasing it like that they are in for a shitstorm.

Preorder going in as soon as I get back to the PC.

Like what? After some changes in system.cfg, it worked pretty well. Only thing that didn't work for me was loading a new level after a ending the previous level and I think that's widespread. And a minor glitch of frozen or missing AI models when loading a previous checkpoint after death.
I was thinking the voice actor for the main character hadn't been decided but then reading here, he is supposed to be mute.

Even this build seems to be much better in the bugs department than some other finished games.

I never get this problem (using the Steam application).

Hmm..it's $70 US here :\ Standard for new EA titles I guess (same with Dead Space 2, MOH, Bulletstorm) but doesn't make sense when other publishers still charge $50. Oh well :???: Not as bad as Activision asking for $90 US for BO and MW2 at least..

I'm guessing that maybe they can lower the gpu requirements.

Considering 8600GTs were running the game fine in medium details at 720p, yeah they can. I bet they back it down very far. Makes me wonder how my lappy's paltry little 310M 256 MB can handle it lol.

Any info on if the demo is going to have/show DX10.x/11 or just plain DX9?

Early or not, DX9 performance should by all means be significantly worse than what we can expect from DX10/11.

Yes, but its not just the performance delta that i'd like to see/test. Im also curious about the visual differences (Tesselation/lighting/shadowing etc...)

Wha? 8600GT at Medium at 720p? My ATI 5650m (which should be far better) barely reaches 25fps at those settings.

As I recall an 8800GT is quite a bit quicker than a 3850 and so on the NV sidewe should expect as a minimum the 9600GT doing just fine in this game.

Also, how much slower is the X1950XTX than the 3850? I don't think it was much. I'd be suprised if that family can't handle the game.

Oh dear...maybe I should have waited for the "game of the year" addtion like Batman:AA where miraculously AMD FSAA suddenly works? :)

Nah, my fingers are crossed that Crytek will do the right thing. If not I'll have to rejoin The Collective I guess... :)

That's true but there's also a rather LARGE drop-off in performance from the 8800 GT to the 8600 series. I think they bascally just went with the lowest card of the oldest generation on each side able to play the game.

What's more surprising is the 3850 as minimum over the 2900 as minimum as they are roughtly similar in speed with the only major difference being dx 10.0 versus 10.1.

And optimizations as they finish up the game may allow them to move the requirements down.

    Heh, that's a bit amusing... :D

    Highly Recommended...

4870x2, and below that...DX11. :D They could have done the same with Nvidia by stating GTX 295, but instead put a DX11 GPU in.

It makes me wonder if DX10.1 is "good enough" for many of the DX11 features and/or speed improvements. Or to put it another way if there is a DX10.1 fallback in addition to a DX10 fallback.

    SB
