    Argh!

(Actually, I didn't realize it wasn't M in the first place.. there are some violent images in this game)

Why TF is "the ability to unlock nude models by hacking the game" even CONSIDERED in the decision, though?

    Grrr.

You know what would be funny. Start making and distributing nude patches for children's games, and see what they ratings people say.

The precident was already set by the Hot Coffee mod for Vice City San Andreas. You'll get crucified in the States if there's any sexual content in your game, even if it's not accessable without third party hacks.

so the nude models were already in the game, but not normally accessible?

that's a bit silly then... if the game is going to get an "M" rating because of the presence of nude models, even if they are not used in the Main Campaign by default... perhaps the developers should have used them in the Main Campaign, by putting a brothel into the Imperial City or something ;)

due to the growing complexity and detail of models, its becoming habbit to model the entire figure "realistically and completely" and then simply layer over it. Not to mention the devil SDKs that allow people to reskin what their dirty minds desire. Though penalizing the game seems a bit over the top, but i was a bit surprised at some of the violence/images and sneaking by with a "T" rating simply because its so immersive. Gratuitous violence and/or language is okay; JUST NO NIPPLES!

Actually, I think this is a reasonable move. Not for the sexual content that can only be unlocked by "th3 cl3v3r h4ck3rz" but the violence and gore that is in the game for all to see. All those heads on a pike made me wonder what the ESRB was smoking.

I don't know whose fault is it (Beth for not disclosing everything or ESBR for not playing enough of the game or whatever they do) but while playing the main quest I really did think the game had too much violence to be rated T. Whoever is to blame, they only give ammo to those that wish to bury the video game industry.

Yeah, it makes no sense at all, but hey, it's the US.

In reality, there's nothing wrong whatsoever in letting children see nudity, including genitals, in a not too unnatural and unhealthy context. But try telling that to American parents...

If anything, glorified violence is the real evil. And that often passes with a lower rating.

Haven't played Oblivion, but from the descriptions, it deserves an "M".

Apparently you didnt find the decaying hanging corpse (by the neck) ripped open at the waist with intestins/mutilated genitals spilling out yet. Its at one of the abandoned forts outside. Thats what made stop for a moment and seriously wonder about the rating.

Is it just mods that they are taking issue with and not even any content in the game by default? If so then yeah I say we start a pornifying kiddy games movement just to show them how stupid this is.

I'd say consept of "The Punished" containers alone makes it worthy of an M rating. And that bit near the end of the Dark Brotherhood quests is surely something I wound't want to show to many youngins.

Maybe they had furry tits, and that counted as clothing? I really didn't play WC3 very far at all (like 3rd or 4th mission...), so I never saw them.

The centaurs, I mean. Not the tits. Errrr... You know what I mean!

Well, 'Oblivion' does allude to necrophilia and some of the books are, frankly, filthy :) Take, for instance, 'The Lusty Argonian Maid'...

    Where's the necrophilia?

Am wondering if maybe they should put an M-rating on Barbie dolls, as you're able to take her clothes off, etc, etc.

Head to Skingraad, and talk to the proprietor of "All Things Alchemical" about Skingraad :)

Edit: P.S. She won't talk about it all the time. I think you can't talk to her about it while there's an Oblivion gate open outside of town.

Well I think as long as the breasts on the centaurs weren't bouncing, no-one probably noticed... :p

I think sex/nudity has been a staple of every RPG I can think of at the moment.
Gothic 2 - brothel with special "sex0r" cutscene
NWN - brothel, part of the storyline, several quests
BG2 - brothel, part of the storyline for a party member (who is a former whore)

Hopefully Gothic 3 will deliver some of the "good stuff" again! :)

Activision had the brothel taken out of ToEE, though... Rated 'Teen'.

    Who was a whore?

    And I can't believe you didn't mention Fallout 2.
