Man, I am not going to be able to make up my mind as to whether I want HDR or AA. I've been really spoiled by transparency AA.

not like you have to make a permanent choice. do a few hours with one then switch to the other. stick with what you like, or alternate through-out the game.

Yeah, that's the problem. I think I'm going to spend more time switching between them than actually playing the game. ;)

When I get oblivion later today I'll try 4xSSAA and HDR on my 7800gtx. With a new dual 7900gtx rig I bet SSAA would actually be viable. Well, atleast there's one advantage to having been sick all weekend...

Transparency AA will be a must IMO especially if you like exploring the wilderness. It sounds like it isn't too bad maybe I will have to buy it afterall. :)

according to EB, mine is on the truck in town right now. though not my strategy guide (amazon) for some reason.

    john reynolds says: "...breathtaking..." ....woot!

i hope this replaces my real life (where i just can't bring myself to wack people...and there are no monsters to speak of) (justify my new rig too!)

Well the monumental difference between bloom and HDR from what I've seen in the last 4 hrs of play is that when you look at the sky, HDR dims like your iris. Bloom does not. Otherwise they are VERY VERY VERY close.

AA is way more important than HDR, but it's too bad you can't have both I guess. I don't think you can have both without a X1800/7800+ anyway, which 98% of people prolly don't have.

i have it. installed at lunch.

im using grass shadows and everything else to the max! still in the dungeon.

im a wood elf that looks uncannily unlike myself, despite my best efforts. (wanted the archery/thief bonus)

my first try, im gonna see what a 45 marksmen skill at start 'buys' me. if nothing, i may switch to a more balanced thug.

God, not coming in until somewhere between 11am and 2pm here (sometime in the next 3 hours). But I think I'm going to try a blade/stealth character. Looks like it'll be a challenging combination, but with my veteran status from playing Morrowind so much, hopefully that'll just make things more interesting ;)

My Nord Paladin is 7th level now. He's of Gladiator rank in the Arena, which fighting in is a helluva lot of fun.

Does anyone here frequent the rpgcodex forums? The site went down yesterday afternoon.

    Coincidence?

I had the Collector's edition in my hand yesterday, but restrained myself from purchasing. I'm such a good husband.

But I did convince her it would be a good early graduation present for myself, and there's no way I'm not graduating. I think I'll go pick it up today after school.

You want to graduate, and yet you are going to go pick it up later today. ;)

I realized that after I posted it. Yet, I'm feeling risky today. I feel I have the right after finding out my 500 level class midterm was 12 points higher than what was posted. Now that is a GOOD surprise.
