And here it is, in all its glory:

The question is, is this believable? Is this real?

The scores for X1900 and 7900 look about right, so I would go with "this is real".

X850XT PE is really close to 7900GT, so that's a little suspicious.

Then again, ATI has always been better at high res + high AA/AF.

I got it from here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92038&page=2

The SM3 path might very well have more eye candy than the SM2 path - that would explain the high performance of the x850XT PE.

    PERFECT explanation :D

    I forgot that X850 doesn't support sm3.0

If they are real, my X800GTO2 @ 520/630 has a good chance at 1920x1200 0AA. Makes me happier. The numbers seem realistic if only because it looks very demanding.

Wow, what a supreme smackdown. Not only did the X1900 trounce the 7900 but Oblivion stomped on everybody

This is exactly why I think G71 might have a harder time than everyone in the "Art Of War" thread thinks . Heavy games like Oblivion, Alan Wake, UT2007, etc, will arrive and really abuse the graphics cards. ATI's excess shader power and highly efficient memory utilisation via the programmable memory controller will stretch the gap and show that the ATI architecture has more legs on it. Nvidia being able to ship cheaper chips won't help if this is the kind of performance advantage that ATI can point at in the latest AAA flagship titles.

It would be nice to get some kind of IQ comparisons too. As shown by the X850 results, you can get a lot of frames back if you're not displaying all the eye candy. I think Nvidia will go their usual route of "special drivers that cut IQ to get the frames back up" in order to look as if they are competing.

The differences between the two paths are usually minimal. Unless one is running something like soft shadows and the other isn't.

That graph is several days old, and has not been proven real, or fake.

It looks like an Anand rip-off to me.

Yeah I heard it's several days old, but this is the first time I saw it.

    You know where it's from?

JR better break out the CrossFire rig for 1920x1200 then!

Edit: And some free Green spin: <sniff!> "Neither is playable at those settings!" </sniff!>

Yes, but you're big reviewer dude. You can score some hot beta Cats if you really want to!

Edit: Actually, this thing has gotten so hype-a-licious that I'd be totally unsurprised to see special "Oblivion Edition" beta drivers from both IHVs.

360 version only runs at a very low resolution, something like 1280x768

i would be a little surprised if they didnt support 720P, but what i think you should point out instead is the 360 version runs with a 30FPS cap and 2AA as well as the most dissapointing thing, only trilinear IQ filtering. That one i seriously dont understand, so it does look great, especially in HD, but there are some little things i think most of the subscibers here might miss. You get all the effects and lose quite a bit of IQ comparing Xbox360 version to a version run on a very high end PC. It still works out to a great deal since most people dont have computers anywhere near capable of running 16AF + 4AA or higher with loaded settings.

I am suspicious. But if the X1900 could run Oblivion at 1600x1200 with 4x FSAA and 16 AF at over 30fps that would be pretty remarkable.

That would be way more pixels (not to mention better pixels) than the xbox360 version. And so far the word is that a high end PC only performs roughly the same as an xbox360.

Thats why these scores are suspicious. Because if these scores are real, that implies the PC boards out perform the xbox360 by a large margin.

Don't forget that the X360 graphics is roughly equal to the R520 in performance, as some ATI rep stated when asked if the X360 could run the R520 demos.

I've thought of doing some benchmarking with the game since I have a FX-60 and FX-57 at my disposal. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be as comprehensive as I'd like since I don't have any 7800/7900 boards (nor do I have any X1900 cards).

And 1680x1050 looks great on my 2405 and I'd be happy with 2x AA and bloom at that resolution. Though I'm sure I'll also look at plain 1920x1200 with HDR for comparison's sake.
