NVIDIA Moves Into Direct Retail Sales of Video Cards

    At the same stroke of the pen I believe they also dropped XFX as a partner. Though shalt not partner with thine competition?

    So they will drop ASUS too? They make cards from both companies.

    As well as Gigabyte and MSI .. it would be suicide plain and simple so not a chance in hell.

    So why just XFX? Is it mutual? Is XFX going the way of BFG?

    I think the general consensus was that XFX decided a while ago (pre-fermi launch) that ties with NV would no longer be "mutually" beneficial .. XFX was rather put off (agian iirc) at NV's requirement for Fermi launch partners to buy significant amounts of GF200 products to be guaranteed Fermi preference. XFX (and other partners) were put off by the slim margins with respect to the GF200 line added with XFX's move to the HD4000 series it was just a matter of time.
