Nvidia Geforce Drivers Release Announcement thread

Restarts user portion of the graphics driver. If that helps somehow then it usually means that the application isn't using the driver properly.
Probably it's not that the app isn't using the driver properly, but it was just allergic to me.

It's also possible that there is a big in the driver of course. But in that case I'd expect it to appear again after a driver restart.
to be fair, nvidia drivers has been pretty buggy to me.

those "ongoing issues" mentioned in every patch notes? i usually experienced multiple of them, and more that were still not in a patch note.

although things has been going better since nvidia walked away from various LHR limitations awhile back.

Any changelog for the GeForce experience?

The overlay has been temperamental in the last driver update before this one.

The shortcuts still work. But the overlay (and pop-ups) sometimes won't appear until reboot

The only changelog/bug fixes I know of are listed on the GeForce Experience site, however they only list the major release highlights.

anyone with (v528.02) get random stutters in various games? i got it in

- witcher 3
- BF2014
- PERTINMENT
- Destiny 2

the stutters happens when something new gonna come on screen. eerily similar to JIT shader compilation stutter

Anyone who maybe knows a bit about AI want to comment on nvidia apparently using AI to improve their drivers? CapFrameX mentioned it in a tweet although only called it a rumor.

Probably referring to this patent.

Real-time hardware-assisted GPU tuning using machine learning.

Basically it tweaks operating parameters (clock speed, thread count, cache availability) in response to monitoring a bunch of real time heuristics. It seems mostly useful for reducing power consumption.

Maybe there are cases where performance can be improved by reducing throughout e.g. when there’s too much cache thrashing.

this results in a severe display of random flickers (either blanking, or gets washed out, or broken colors) every few minutes.

EDIT
solved either by resetting GSYNC and/or reseating the HDMI Cable. not sure which one, i did both.

I assume DLAA requires less performance than DLDSR which effectively allows something similar in almost any game? I don't actually have any DLAA enabled games to test this (there aren't many).

I do wish NV would enable DLDRS at some lower resolutions though. Image quality is out of this world with it on, but it's very performance intensive.

No. DLAA is DLSS with native input resolution. DLDSR is AI assisted downsampling.

By similar I mean allows you to improve image quality over native. But I'm assuming the addition of DLSS on top of native is cheaper than rendering at higher than native and then downsampling. An image quality comparison of Native vs DLAA vs DSR vs DLDSR would be interesting.
