[IMG]NVIDIA launched the second chip in the GeForce 6 series a little over a month ago with the PCI Express native NV43, popularly known as GeForce 6600 line. Being a PCI Express chip, at launch there was no AGP version available, however thanks to the reversal of the “HSI" AGP to PCI Express x16 bridge chip the AGP version can now be shown.

While the new 6600 GT AGP has a rather interesting board layout, due to the inclusion of the bridge chip, the performance characteristics for the AGP version haven’ remained exactly in-line with the PCI Express version. Here we’ll take at the specifications and performances of the GeForce 6600 GT AGP and compare it with its brethren. Also included is the former high end GeForce FX 5800 Ultra, which has several high level specification similarities with the GeForce 6600 GT, so we'll see how the architectural difference in the pipeline laybout between NV3x and NV4x aids modern gaming performance. <a href="http://www.beyond3d.com/previews/nvidia/nv43agp/">Read the full review here<a>.

Is there a plan for an AGP version of the plain geforce 6600 as I don’t see it mentioned anywhere?

    Re: plain geforce 6600

According to the Anandtech review the plain 6600 will not be available with AGP for the time beeing.

As for the review itself: Good stuff, as usual. Very interesting to see the inclusion of the FX5800U.

Well I have to admit this seems like a nice card, too bad that it is arriving so late though.

Interesting comparison among the three ~500/500 cards. (Also somewhat interesting to note that nV's been pegging 500MHz for most of their stay at 130nm.) Thanks, Dave.
