Those threads you are linking to are disappearing about as fast as you can post them.

As for the issue at hand: Very unprofessional, yes, but seems a little blown out of propportion...

Can't get anymore 'personal opinion' than that, IMO.

If he would have said: "I should know because we tested them at work (nV)" then it wouldn't be personal > he's just reiterating nV's findings & not his own.

Mountain out of less than a molehill , IMO.

Why does it not surprise me that Nvidia have been slamming competitors products AGAIN.

I dont care how their good graphics cards might be their business practices still suck IMHO

If he responds to the @nvidia.com e-mail he posts with, then I'd say it's pretty clear.

    Well I haven't gotten a response from the e-mail I sent him at that e-dress, I guess that means he's a fraud. ;)

I find it hard to believe that any NVIDIA employee who is high enough up the ladder to have their opinion be meaningful would actually purchase an ATI video card. Either the guy is an imposter, or he's some level 1 call center support weenie who can't even tell someone how to properly uninstall their video card drivers, let alone make an informed opinion on another company's product.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing myself. What is an NVIDIA employee doing owning an ATI card

I can't believe that the nvidia employee dares to say such things about ati when nvidia has lots of driver issues too. if not more.

look at this review that someone else posted, it shows both nvidia and ati has driver problems in catalyst 4.2 drivers and forceware56xx drivers, but nvidia drivers has alot more problems than ati's in majority of game tests.
I wonder why the nvidia employee didn't mock his own company about that? maybe he would be fired on the spot.
it shows how desperate and low class nvidia's going lately

I think Nvidia policy prevent their employee to comment on their products or competitors' on the public forum. Only PR people can represent the company and talk to outside world. If anyone got caught identified themselves as Nvidia employee and talked as if one is represent the company, termination of employment is almost ensured.

If he was an employee before, he probably isn't one now.
Most likely he is just pretending...

    Sorry, didn't spot this.

He has made numerous comments about their poor hardware implementation, their crappy PS2.0 speed, their driver hacks and so on. All true, but they're all negative comments about a competitor. I can't remember if he's used the word "suck" specifically, but the tone was obvious for all to see. There's no love loss either way, and for ATi to be up in arms about this is rather hypocritical.

Where? (Specific example of where OpenGL guy was in really bad form about nvidia's products / drivers?)

did CM ever mention nVidia by name? if he said "our cmpetator" or "other companies" then it less a dig at the competition, and more of a positive positioning statement for ati. for example, had the nVidia employee responded with "currently we can only gaurentee compatability for said features on nVidia hardware running driver version XXX and higher" it would have been fine, but saying "[company A]'s drivers suck" is wrong.

Before I post these, let's be clear here - I don't think OGL or anyone at ATi is in "bad form" by criticising nVidia, the same way I don't think nVidia (in this case) is in "bad form". I'm merely pointing out that the criticism here is hardly all one way.

All of those are examples of criticising nVidia, nVidia cards, nVidia drivers, or nVidia practices.

Hey leave me out of this. My purpose is to talk about the benefits of CATALYST and occasionally help troubleshoot people on the forums. Im not here to talk about other companies.

    1. He's speaking "only for himself"
    2. That's not directed at nvidia.

Some are, yes. This is not the same as just saying "hey....they suck" (particularly when you are officially representing the company.)

Good work, PaulS, you managed to find lots of places where I quoted people who mentioned nvidia (there, I said the "n" word again, you can add it to your list).

Maybe I should just ask Dave to delete this stupid account.
