You haven't answered my question on how you found about it yet ? Did you stumble upon this AEG website or were you pointed in the right direction. If you were pointed in the right direction then by whom ?

That's an interesting question that has not been covered yet !

In regards to Rollo the Hitchhikers guide would sum him up as "Completely harmless". He used to argue on the nvnews forum that the FX 5800 was better than an Ati 9700/9800 even though nobody in their right mind ( even on nvnews ) would agree with him.

Finally he had to resort to this

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=34627&highlight=5800

I'm not sure about walk tall, more like is less stooped in Doom3. I was playing Far Cry around that time I think with my Fx 5800 and I soon resorted to a 9800.

C'MON GEO .. ANSWER DA QUESTION

But since there are plenty of nasty suspicous minds about, I've never talked to anyone at ATI about this, before or since --if that's what you were after.

No, I was just after whether you did all the ground work or not. Obviously the answer is no, somebody pointed you in that direction. I'm just interested in where the chain ends that's all, my guess is not the person who pointed you there.

Since you made it public I think less worrying about your source and more about getting all the facts out. Or are you happy just getting certain facts out into the public domain ?

Now you've started we might as well finish, who told you ? And who told them.

Or is it only one side who has the guts to put their cards on the table ?

Some will, some won't. Some, if I told them that the Dali Lama was my source, would want to know how I could possibly be sure that it wasn't ATI PR that whispered it in his ear? Welcome to the internet and the wonderful wacky world of computer hardware websites.

Edit: Errr, His Holiness didn't actually have anything to do with this thread tho. . .:)

I'm not sure a LOL icon is appropriate here considering some of the soul searching that has obviously been forced on some members of the forum - whether they deserved it or not.

I also find it very distasteful that you are prepared to wallow in the glory and popularity of the thread and yet are not prepared to answer any questions on how this thread ever happened in the first place.

I think the LOL emoticon is perfectly apt, poor Geo has had to put up with waaaay too much shit in this thread not to deserve a bit of giddiness. ;)

If Geo could tell you about it he would, he can't. He didn't really tell me because he couldn't, but I did find out thru a different party.

Would it really shock you that the people who turned Geo on to this don't want to be known considering the nature of this? Why do you think someone contacted Geo to go public with it if not to protect their own identity?

Don't expect someone to just give you that answer, it's not something that's being offered up....sorry.

What is your legitimate interest beyond the answer I gave? I understand the legitimate interest of the people (and yes, there was more than one over the course of this thread) that I talked to under condition of confidentiality about different elements of this program, but I'm not understanding yours.

Not that it would matter. I gave assurances of confidentiality, I will keep them. If you feel I shouldn't have given them in the first place, that's your perogative --I'm stuck with them anyway.

As to glory and popularity, that is your phrase not mine. if you've read the thread I've taken plenty hits along the way, so that would seem to be your blinkered assessment. I don't seem too popular with you, for instance. Which is fine, it wasn't about popularity. I knew going in it was going to be controversial, and it has been. But the middle should not allow itself to be held hostage by the opinions of the extremes, as politics proves over and over again.

Edit: Ahh, I see Digi corrected the record. Good. All I told him is what I said on this thread upstream --I can't tell you who, just who didn't (because I agree that it would be relevant to know if ATI put me up to this --they didn't). And, actually, it's news to me that he thinks he knows anyway. We also haven't discussed that.

Thanks for thinking of me!! But nah, never been approached by AEG or any of its members. I'm very surprised Rollo is in there (he's way too over the top for this sorta thing), expected Chris while Chalnoth and Ailurous being members certainly isn't far-fetched.

My Nvidia slant is completely down to the hardware I've owned historically and the fact that when I first joined this place was an ATi jerk-fest and I love a good fight - still do !!

I'm glad my opinion on this mess has been vindicated somewhat - some responses to their confessions totally justify their silence. Too many self-righteous bastards hiding behind their online identities around here.
