It should work in any browser.

Note that this pic was taken at the Khronos booth.

Kinda curious that Nokia still has so much faith in their ability to win the game of patent musical chairs that they want software patents.

It's nice to hear that HouseMarquee guys have gotten new projects as well... they were in quite bad position about a year ago.

    EDIT: from Khronos site:

and the most interesting one from this thread point of view...

Mistake in blog entry, Futuremark had nothing to do with Tin Star.

Almost correct, Tin Star was produced by an ex-Futuremark

FM did a very nice demo for Nokia last E3 and they did some nice demos for 3DMarkMobile06 too, but this Tin Star was all Housemarque. The House guys really did an excellent job there and I'm very excited to start showing off that demo on an actual device. I'm not sure if it was hyped already, but Tin Star is actually playable, not just a non-interactive demo.

    Cheers,
    Patric

Yeah, the Play mode was shown in addition to the Demo mode. No details have been released yet about Tin Star nor Futuremark's robot atop spire demo, though. Which type of APIs did they use, OpenGL ES 1.1+ or native?

OpenGL ES 1.1+ for both dude on the roof and Tin Star, where the only added feature to the standard set was TC. The funny thing is, within Nokia people consider ES on S60 as the native for games, the alternative being M3G. Now you asked if it was ES or native

    You?
Is there more information available? A better quality video of the same demo perhaps?

Yes me, it was great to produce cool 3D sh... stuff again

We showed the demo real time on dev boards at GDC. We'll start showing it on device as the first one with 3D hw is launched. I'm not aware of any videos distributed of this. One reason may be that this content was created for a cell phone display. It looks awesome that small, but not as good when enlarged to a 21" monitor :-b

Around what timeframe will Nokia release official 3D hardware specs for these phones?

We have a number of different hardware platforms in upcoming devices. Specs are officially released as the first device is launched. Already last E3 we promised to launch our first 3D accelerated device H1 '06 and this promise is still holding.

H1 means only 3 months to go so pressure is on. Presumably this means one of the already announced phones N series / E series perhaps. I can only think of one hardware solution ready and that is the OMAP 2420 based SoC.

ok, take my chances, as far-fetched this question may be: will that device be running symbian?

Switching Series 60 from its current Symbian to Linux might be extreme.
