It has been confirmed by Gamespot Korea that, Ninja Gaiden 2, the sequel to one of the most acclaimed titles on the original Xbox, will be publicly shown to the world for the first time at this years Tokyo Game Show.

This was confirmed by an insider in the Japanese gaming industry. According to the insider, the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed at the moment, but the game will in fact be shown for the Xbox 360 system.

I read in a free Swedish game magazine called "Game Reactor" a quote from The creator, Tonobu Itagaki isn't it? anyway, roughly translated he said "We're not showing it just yet because frankly it would make every other game dev loose motivation"

That man is awesome, drinks whisky and intimidates journalists hehe.

Don't forget "fiddles his fellow female employees.." ;)

Anyways this is great news and could hopefully mean a 2008 release of one of my most highly anticipated 360 games period!

EXPECT: DOA4 level visuals but with HUGE, highly detailed environs..

Can't Wait!!!

:D

I just replayed NG:B... aka the best game of last generation.

IMO, It's the best of the 3 NG games too.

NG2 I cannot wait for. Some sort of coop would be really, really nice.

Itagaki, please use a more subdued mammary emulation. While I must admit to oggling women's breasts here and there, I'd prefer to not question if I was watching a very bad soft porn movie or playing a game. You don't need it to sell the game, gameplay is unmatched. I actually don't mind the bouncing in the DOA fighting series, but for some reason Rachel in NG:S just seems wrong on a bunch of different levels. One more thing, Hayashi is a wuss, don't give us more save points or 'automatic' running on water, make us work for it.

He thinks that NGS is not as good as the original NG and NG: Black...coz the difficulty is a lot lower.

he didn't say it was the best version

I didn't say he said that.

coz the difficulty is a lot lower.

That is just one reason, and I'd say it was a little easier, not alot, and I'm not a NG master by any stretch. I just think the gameplay changes that were made were for the worse, graphically it looks much better than NG:B. IMO, NG:B is a slightly better (but worse looking) game than NG:S.

Let's move on, I don't want to derail this thread about NG2 awesomeness.

Co-op please. Ryu & Hayate.

Agreed! NG2 will be a day one purchase.

Hehehe

I get a kick out of his quotes. Hopefully NG2 lives up to it. NG1 was a GREAT base to start from. Keep the gameplay and expand on it along with new environments and models, textures, env fx etc to match the best of what this gen can offer. The man is cocky as heck, but he lives up to the talk for the most part (NG). I hope he has a proper budget to really flesh out the story and background etc.

sidenote - co-op would be cool, but I'd prefer it to be an add-on after you beat the game. It'd add replay value but I think it would take away from the sp experience.

Your words are sweet to my eyes! :D

I agree co-op would change the game up too much and probably ruin the challenge/balance of the game..

If they have some kind of co-op missions on completion then that would be awesome..

(heck even better, give us the opportunity to playt through the entire of NGS co-op with ryu and rachel as a bonus unlockable!! That would just be f***ing incredible!!  )

I don't think he'll have to hold back, really. As far as i understand he is togheter with Hideo Kojima and western devs like Spectre and Molynoux (spelling?) quite independent when it comes to budget.

I am really owndering what these guys will do with the PS3 though, considering what they managed with the Xbox, or all of their games on different hardware for that matter.
