I had a fairly god-like (though not uber god-like) character. Morrowind enemies were easy, but there were still tribunal enemies that were difficult.

Yeah, it does depend on what sort of character you play. But it was certainly possible, with a little bit of patience, to make all those Tribunal enemies very easy as well.

I am pretty sure they are out right lying about the AI.
NPC with daily schedale: Very likely
NPC with ability to interact with enviromental objects: Possible, but probably limited to weapons and potions and other key items
NPC with ability to interact with other NPC, all with fitting dialogue: Umm, either they taped a ton of voice or they scripted it all.

They did say that recordings take up half the X360 DVD.

Personally, I don't see why anybody would want to play a game like Oblivion on anything but the PC.

One reason would be to play it earlier. Another would be if they don't already have a PC that will allow them the same image fidelity as the xbox version.

I've played Morrowind 3 times, twice on PC and once on Xbox. I can honestly say that I did not feel like missing out on anything while playing on Xbox. Sure, on PC I had lots of cool mods and stuff and the resolution was higher (at least the second time, when I had a better graphics card), but the game was still the same and I was probably not hardcore enough to really require any mods. Playing Morrowing while lying in bed on my nice 16:9 TV was a very relaxing experience and actually more enjoyable than the 2 times I had played it on PC in a way. I'll be getting Oblivion on PC, but primarily because I can't afford a 360 at launch...

Well, we should know by the end of this month if they'll make that date for the PC version. Here's hoping....

I'm hoping for a collector's edition so the publisher can gouge me for another $20-30 for $5 worth of stuff.

That's pretty soon. Nice game to start with the XI800XT.
I wonder if they have a demo planned before the release.

i was one of those gamers who got my char to uber level, i made super potions, i was unstoppable with those stacked super potions--i hope they do something to stop this a little ---the power is is to hard to resist! i must have more!(end madness). I flew around morrowind most of the later game - i love the fact that it hinted it right at the start when that wizard fell from the sky- and reading his notes in that book, i sort of thought to myself, yeah as if. It felt great to be able to achieve that, i finnished the main game but i didnt get the expansions done. the door bug really pissed me off to the point that i stopped playing it (no patch at the time fixed it), plus eq2 had just come out and i had to see what it was like. im over eq2 in a big way and ready to go back to some nice scripted quests single player style:)
im really excited about this-Oblivion has a lot to live upto, fingers crossed.

Heh, my method of keeping Morrowind challenging is to not level up. I'm playing with a character that's around level 7 so his hitpoints are fairly low. However, skills keep increasing and several have maxed out. He's an acrobat marksman so can avoid getting hit most of the time by jumping around like a maniac as he shoots his bow. But if he gets hit, he dies fast. It keeps some challenge and skill requirement for me.

I really like Morrowind but am amazed at how badly they messed up some very basic items. The challenge / power design is utterly broken, none of the merchants can afford to buy the loot you find, and the renderer rendered in reverse order of what it should have.

I hope they haven't messed up any basics in Oblivion. But I'm not optimistic about the challenge level. I saw a dev interview which asked about uber characters. The dev said something about how it takes a long time to become uber so the player deserves to be rewarded by being more powerful then anything else. So the reward for your effort is boredom... *sigh*

Oh well, at least that should be moddable.

They did not write the engine, so it is not their fault entirely that it sucked balls.

It is their fault for buying such a piss poor engine though, I don't know what they were smoking at the time.
