New Ninety Nine Nights direct feed images

Well the views here can't be any worse than some of the nuggets posted over at GA. Fact quite a lot of detail is lost in these shots as pointed out by blim, due the really crap JPeg compression they have used.

These pictures are from BlimBlim from GAF and hes openly stated that the JPEG compression isn't really helping out the pictures IQ.

FYI: I like the first picture with the Sunflowers

regardless of artifacting, this game has taken a very large step down it seems. It's too bad...

Compared to the target renders it's pretty weak, but on it's own merits and compared to last gen KOF titles it's a pretty huge jump.

What target renders are you refering to Scoob? From my knowledge they haven't released any "target renders". All screens have been real-time, and we even have HD footage of someone playing the game that looked incredible. Seriously, these screens are not good enough quality to judge anything on.... even in these pics I only see a couple dozen enemies on screen, compared to the video that had thousands...

Like are these guys to retarded to click "save for web" in photoshop? I have no problem retaining detail.

I will say though, I shrunk a couple of these image in photoshop, and applied a sharpening filter, and wow, does it ever make a huge difference.

I don't know of they are bad captures, bad compression, or if the game really looks like this, but with one pass of sharpening the screens just jump to life.

That's actually real-time. Check this out:

Found some HD gameplay footage for ya ;)

They were all taken from a TV, but you get a lot better idea of how the game looks than those crappy screens in the OP.

Thx for the vids bro, the game does look really good, these caps are screwed.

this one especially makes me want to try the game out:

action is super fast, very cool fluid over the top moves, massive power moves that kill the entire battlefield, level-ups and upgradeable weapons. Not bad..not bad...

What's up with pic 0009? I mean, I like depth of field stuff, but geez. You mean the guy's back is in focus, but his legs and hips are not? A bit of an adjustment to the code would seem to be in order here. That would be really distracting in game to me.

Your pictures are also well under 1/4 the resolution yet nearly 3/4 the file size. Do you not understand the concept of image compression?

Wow I thought this looked amazing (on these screens) - I've only played Dynasty Warriors as a "big battle" type game - , took a detour to GAF and saw some of the Kingdom Under Fire (Xbox) stuff.
Either thats misrepresentative of KUF or this is underwhelming.

I'll wait for more media, videos + screens without such compression as these before judgement though.

Its from a video so the DOF is probably moving from the front to back (or back to front). It should look fine in-game.

oh shut up..yes kyle i do not understand the concept of image compression..exactly.

First of all the images looked fine at 60%(100kb), still far better than the crap they released, I just decided to crank it to 90%(207kb).

Secondly, who the fuck cares about image compression when you're release 12(720p) HIGH DEFINITION screenshots?
