Are these numbers before, during or after the Cube price drop?

It says "Updated 21st October" but somehow i don't think GC would keep selling less than Xbox after the price cut.... :?

I keep hearing what a sales disapointment F-Zero GX is, so I find it a bit funny to see it outsold KOTOR

Um, KOTOR had been out for like 4-5 months by then, FZero was pretty new, and it barely outsold it..

KOTOR is probably close to 700+k by now, and hasn't launched in Europe yet.

So no, FZero has not outsold KOTOR.

What I meant was that *updated 21st Oct* does NOT mean *as on 21st Oct*.....well I am confused....

yeah thats what i thought.... "updated on 21st October" but with an earlier "end-date" :?

Actually regardless of whether or not Xbox outsold GC after the price cut, IMO its the christmas season when such a change will be most evident.

Xboxers tend to be an older crowd who buy the game with their own money, and less likely to receive such a 'gift' for xmas.

Anyone know what the world market looks like?

it doesnt look like anything, it's not physical.. ;) .. ok back on track...

around 60 million PS2's, around 20 million GC and the same for Xbox...

very approximated numbers....

Why? Kotor has been out for some time. Hell Vice City and a wrestling game outsold F Zero.

13 WWE Wrestlemania XIX THQ GC $3,852,116 77,391

Poor Disgaea...I guess i was one of the few of the 40 some odd thousand...

huh? Sorry about the brain-slowness, but........ isn't that exchange of statements a bit....... incoherent...?

Just to clarify, those numbers were from September.

I'm pretty sure the Gamecube will outsell the Xbox in October though, given the lingering effects of the Cube price drop, but I don't think it will be necessary for Sony and MS to drop price this year.

There are still at least two more Xbox/PS2 holidays. One at $139 and one at $99, most likely. Nintendo really has no where to go after this, but I suppose they had to do something to move hardware.

haaa finally, yes that makes sense. I remember the GC outselling the PS2 during the first week after the price drop so I found it a little strange that it was still in third place. October numbers will be very interesting.

Well they could go to 89 or 79$. That's probably what they'll do if the Xbox and PS2 ever drop to 99.

In the UK the lower-priced Cube outsold the Xbox for one week. The next week the Xbox sent the Cube back to third place with the new bundle ($139.99 for Xbox, Halo, Midtown Madness 3).

HA! I think you're back-talking the wrong man on that topic :)

Yes, very approximate my friend ;) My thinking falls much more inline with this:

Code:
Estimated Current Installed Base (Various Sources)

Console North America Japan Europe Total
PlayStation 2 19,000,000 14,170,000 19,400,000 59,990,000
GameCube 4,600,000 2,470,000 1,950,000 9,550,000
Xbox 5,800,000 400,000 2,200,000 9,400,000

Numbers compiled by GameSpy on 9.21.03
