    you mean,the camera in MGS4 not have the full view ? so 1024X576 not have the low part of the game? but i serch some pic on net,the pic have the HUD,THE HUD(your heath ,weapon.....)
    is in the lowest part of screen. these pic is 1024X576 and still have the hud.

    another thing. if MGS4 is a 1024X768 GAME . why ? the HD TV is16:9 . why Develop the game in 4:3 ???

    Those images look pretty good - considering there’s no anti-aliasing.

    The screen isn't chopped to fit, but shrunk. It's a bit like a PC game being rendered at a lower resolution.

    But the horizontal 1024 pixels are upscaled, aren't they?

    MGS4 photo mode is 1024x768 downscaled in 1024x576

    I'm fairly certain it was determined to be 1280x720, no AA, just like the 360.

    Does anyone know the resolution of Space Harrier, the original arcade unit?

    Sorry, I just wanted to say that I've never really cared for anti-aliasing and I've always loved the rugged look of scaling sprites.

    ANY way to Prove that? 1024x768 downscaled in 1024x576 must be lost someting . about 1024X200 can't be disappeared

    and , have you confirm that with the Official? I heard you confirm the HALO3 with the MS

    HD TV use 16:9 ,why they use the4:3 1024X768?

    Not really necessary to bother Quaz51 with these questions, they've been answered earlier in this thread, apart from being fairly obvious.

    They use 1024x768 because they can - you simply upscale it to 1280x720 while playing back, and it's also easier to support 4:3 resolutions that way ... They used 512x512 on MGS2 on the PS2 also, if I remember correctly.

    However, when exporting screenshots, you'll get strangely formed shapes if you export the original 1024x768 images, so instead they save them as 1024x576 to get them back in the proper 16:9 aspect ratio. They could have also exported 1280x720 but I'm guessing the upscaling wouldn't have looked as nice in a still shot as it does in the 60fps game.

    It isn't " disappeared", it is interpolated though the downscaling.

    The easiest way to check this is to run Space Harrier under MAME and take a screenshot.

    Fracture is 1152x648 no AA on PS3 and 1280x720 no AA on X360

    Im pretty sure that MGS4 is a 30fps game, unless you count framerate when viewing the ground or something ;)
