I can see narrow black bands on the top and bottom of my SXRD when playing R&CF:Q4B. Looks like they're indeed still doing 704p.

But do you see bars on the left and right also? I am playing on a dell screen and it shows bars all around the picture. It might not be a 720p screen, so not sure.

Any ps3 and xbox 360 hdmi captures from star wars: the force unleashed, yet?

Is it possible to let the ps3 version display in 1080p output mode? If yes, does it have a 960 x 1080 mode?

There are HDMI captures from the 360 version above. I'm still waiting for the return of my HDCP stripper to take shots from the PS3 game.

Looks like 720p no AA for both versions.

Let's keep the technical comparison to the multiplatform thread.

    Thank you for your reply.

Your earlier statement sounded, as if you used a hk mod hdfury for those screenshots. And that would mean, that there was analog vga output in the end and not digital hdmi/dvi, even if this was the original source, wouldn't it?

If someone is able to answer the question regarding 1080p on the ps3 version, please feel free to answer it.

It definitely didn't default to 1080p with all settings enabled, and that's a "bad" sign for you right there. I don't think it would let you force the mode either.

But if you want I can reinstall it and make sure. Then again why can't you check yourself I thought you had a PS3?

Not defaulting to 1080p is not generally a bad sign or something like that or whatever, isn't it? The usa version of uncharted: drake's fortune for example doesn't default to 1080p, too, but is able to render at 960 x 1080 anyway, isn't it?

There was some talk going on here, that more and more ps3 games are able to render at 960 x 1080. Would just be interesting what this game is doing.

No, I could take those shots now if you wanted. The piece of equipment I am referring to that I don't have to hand is digital in, digital out.

Those screenshots were rendered at 720p with 2xAA.

Same as Motorstorm then. At least it seems they bumped up the effects, specially lighting and blur.

What? How are those "real" screens? Because of the subtitle? They may well be pre-rendered cutscene grabs as usual.

I think they are from the real time cut scenes

    Check this one
    http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360...9373/final-fantasy-xiii-20080714071237651.jpg

    and compare with this one
    http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/903/903022/final-fantasy-xiii-20080826034712507.jpg

The first one is from the CGI trailer.

The other one has a different level of detail. Knowing the quality of the in game graphics from the older trailer I wouldnt have found it strange if thats in game with the only difference being the additional resolution

By real, I mean they aren't pre-rendered. Furthermore, these screens have only been seen in scans or at a very tiny resolution from Famitsu. They're from real time cut scenes. It's pretty obvious that those shots aren't being run through Square's prerender engine. If they were, then Square's prerenders have gotten considerably worse. But like I said, I doubt those are running off a ps3 right now.

quest for booty seems to be 1280X704 and 2XMSAA or QAA. The game seems to be a tiny black bar on top and bottom.
