http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=15318

this is a user made 360 vid of 2k7 but just thought some of you waiting for the PS3 game would like to see just how sick this game is.

pretty amazing look at why it's considered the best BBall game ever.

EDIT: BTW, for those that care... the music has "strong" language... hit mute. :)

I know people will always disagree as every one has different tastes. But going by the majority of the reviews for both 06/07 live vrs 06/07 2k the majority of the reviewers have all said that the Live versions look "better" under most conditions. I also have owen both live 06 and 2k6 as well as own 2k7 and yes the animations are much much better on the 2k versions. My whole poiint of bringing that up was that it seems for the last few years EA is only worried about making the best looking game, and game play takes the backset. Where as 2k works on gameplay first, and then some IQ things take the back seet..

especially since nobody from VC or 2K has said a word about 1080p... it was only brought up erroneously in this thread.
Seems you and I spoke too soon?

Interesting statements from IGN/Gamespot...

Apart from some of these mild touchups to the gameplay, 2K Sports and Visual Concepts have spent a large amount of time optimizing and placing finer graphical touches in the game. Players accustomed to the 360 version will notice that many of the reflections on the court are sharper, and player models are much more detailed. In fact, while we were shown the game in 720p, we were told that the game will actually run at a maximum resolution of 1080p at a full 60 frames a second, and the development team is working hard to make sure that is included in the final product. What's more, they're fully attempting to utilize as many SPUs as possible, with one processor solely dedicated to the cloth physics of every uniform, another to sideline character models, a third to AI behavior on court and so on.

Graphically, it's tough to tell if the PS3 game is a notable improvement from the Xbox 360 version of the game. Certainly the game looked great in the demo we played--with deep, rich colors, and a lively animated crowd that really added life to the backgrounds--but how much of that clarity was due to PS3 power as opposed to the state-of-the-art flatscreen the game was playing on, is tough to tell. Regardless, PS3 owners who play NBA 2K7 aren't going to have much to complain about, as the game is running at 60 frames per second at both 720p and 1080p, according to developers.

NBA2k7 is already a impressive looking game, I plan on getting it when it comes out (i would get madden 07, but ehhh I think I can wait for 08), if they get it running at 1080p/60fps in the final version..all the better. :)

This thing I don't get

For instance, the cloth physics of jerseys and shorts has been assigned to one SPU on the PS3 instead of multiple cores on the 360 so that it can move more realistically than ever without taking away processing power for the rest of the game

I mean if they use an SPE for doing something they do take away processing power from the rest of the game, it is not as if you don't consume power by having something on an SPE. If they were not using that SPE for cloth they could have been using it for other stuff instead...

wow... very cool  ... is it rendering at 1080p or upscaling?

not that I would notice a difference on my current 1080i set, but here's hoping that next year both versions run at 1080p.

Everytime someone references 1080p in their PS3 game they tend to mean rendering natively. Every game can be upscaled to 1080p.

Sounds like it was 720p at the show and the developers plan on upping it to 1080p native in the final game. I guess we will see how that turns out in a month.

gotta love Visual Concepts... they really seem to be working as hard as just about anybody in the business right now (and Capcom :p) to produce the best that they can from these machines.

And I love every minute of it. That's why this BS 360 vs. PS3 crap has to stop. We are all getting great games made for us and the devs are trying their best to deliver that to us.

Just as expected. I'm buying this game first day.
Same deal here, this will be my sports title fix for launch (don't think I'll get madden just yet, though it does look good). But I do plan on getting fight night 3 in december.

Guess I'll see you online. ;)

Yeah I'll be online. But I HAVE to get Madden 07. When I was watching the Pats vs. Colts game on Sunday night I was about to have a break down without my Madden fix.

Yeah, I'm on the edge on it, but I don't know if I'll have the money for it all yet. I kinda wanna diversify my games at launch , but I'll definately think about it after launch, maybe in december. It definately wouldnt hurt to have madden to go along the nfl season this fall. :)

Nice

you guys are gonna love this game. It plays the most realistic game of basketball (or sports for that matter) than any game I have EVER played.

Better than Madden.

Must own... too bad it's not cross platform online. ;)

God I will love the day where PSN users can play LIVE users. That's what I call true gaming heights.

But yeah I wish Madden had the animation that 2K7 does. And I'm onlu judging from 8 videos that I've seen online.

you're right. the animation in 2k is amazing, better than Madden by far; and Madden is good. That's what helps to make it so realistic. Guys are just doing so many, many things at different times in the most appropriate ways that you feel the game is alive.
