Movie Footage Of Games: Why is it...?

Why is it when you see the first movie footage of new games or trailers from places like E3 etc. are they invariably filmed by someone in the audience in Shaky-Cam-O-Vision that looks wobbly, out-of-focus, has black borders, audience chatter, looks too-dark and is generally crappy?

Sony etc. must allow people to film the screen at their press conferences. They must also know that the footage is going to appear all over the web. They also know that for many people this will be the first thing they ever see of what their new console/game etc. looks like? So why, for FFS, can't they simply release high quality encoded footage to the press who can then put it up on their websites in full quality without the need to use shaky cams to try and film it? Wouldn't this show their product in a much better light? Where is the sense, eh? :?:
