Just saw a few BFG GeForce 6800GT going for around $225 on ebay, though they still had 1 1/2 days to go...

I would definatelly have bidded on those if I didnt know how ebay works and that it would probably be in the $350 range at the end of the auction.

    What a shame.

I finally decided to go for the Radeon 9800pro, 256 bit, 128 meg for $200. I am trying to get it right now through dell, but my credit card billing is a foreign address...so I am getting troubles doing it online.

I finally decided to go for the sure bet with the 9800 pro...besides, the improvement in performance from my 64bit 9600SE is sure to leave me satisfied. Though I managed to overclock it last night, I was still getting only 3 fps in 3DMark05 (yeah...not really designed for such a wimpy card) but I improved score from 800 to 960. It was still pretty sad.

I am betting I would be getting at least 4 times (if not more) that score once I install a 9800 pro.

    any bets?

Looks like the 6600gt AGP beats 9800 Pro pretty handily.

If you haven't already spent your money on the 9800 Pro, take a look at the 6600gt agp reviews that are out. At 1280x1024 the 6600gt has a 10.% to 22% lead when running the couterstrike source tests. This is the application that ATI is supposed to OWN. In doom 3 the margin is even wider... 40% to 89% faster at 1280. Not a chanse I'd make the 980 Pro choice over the 6600gt. Now if we are talking x800 that's a different story, and a different $ amount as welll.

Not to mention 200 for a 9800 pro is a rip off right now, you should be able to get on for $150.

Well, $150 used. And the AGP 6600GT is as much as $250, and only as cheap as $230. If you're going to go north of $200, you're better off with a $250 BFG 6800OC (dual DVI and MCP be darned).

In Sweden, the AGP 6600 GT is about the same price as the 9800 Pro. And a lot cheaper then the 6800. No difference between the AGP and PCI Express versions. (PCI Express 5$ cheaper)
