I just saw on Bink that Microsoft will be releasing an out-of-band security patch today for all versions and editions of Windows. According to Steven, this is the second time Microsoft has had to do this so it must be serious. The advance notification security bulletin rates this as Critical for all versions of Windows, except Vista and Server 2008 which are rated Important.

Stay safe.

EDIT: The patch is now out and you can download it from Windows Update.

MS published a lot more info now that the patch is out. Apparently there is a deep-seated issue in the Server component of NT that allows remote code execution.
