Microsoft in bid to acquire 3D tech company

Microsoft is said to be negotiating to acquire the Israeli technology company 3DV Systems for around USD 35 million.

3DV Systems develops "virtual reality" imaging technology for digital cameras, which it also sells, called ZCams. The products are designed to offer body movement control for videogames, which the company describes as a "genuinely immersive experience".

The software giant are said to be interested in using this technology, similar to Sony's EyeToy or Microsoft's Vision, with the Xbox 360, as well as exploring its applications in other areas
