Whats the difference in price between a 1.3lt mini hatchback from japan and a v12 supercar? They both do the same thing but one is hundreds of thousands dollars different.

They are not made from the same materials or do the same job.
The market decides prices and if DDR memory has shot up recently it is because price fixing is frowned upon.
