So this isn't a technology I've really known about since it's been mostly in commercial space so far. Seems quite ideal solving some big projector problems, maintaining the benefits of size and versatility of screen space on the wall, whilst producing an excellent high resolution bright image. Seems like a decent entry into prosumer market that will only get better and cheaper? Especially when it's able to move to proper RGB laser but stay cost effective.

Dell 4k HDR Laser projector

From the LTechTips article comments, here's another ADLP that's substantially cheaper than Dell's $6K asking price. The Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector Full HD 4K ALPD 3.0 5000 Lumens is around $1700 - $2000. Here's an article about it: https://www.gearbest.com/projector-accessories/pp_660919.html?lkid=12262304

Though what seems odd is the XMi says its resolution is Full HD at 1920x1080p but also supports resolution of 4K. Not sure on what Dell specs claim, if its the same wonkiness.

That's been a fairly common issue with projectors throughout the years, with a native resolution below what it actually inputs. The Dell 4K S718QL is native 4k though in comparison.

This tech looks promising, especially if they can get the price down for native 4K. In a couple to few years the prices should drop considerably if it follows the trend of HD Projectors. Currently for anyone using it as fixed position display with a size under 65" it's likely cheaper to go with and OLED set.
