GamePolitics has learned that controversial Miami attorney Jack Thompson faces a disciplinary hearing before a referee appointed by the Florida Supreme Court.

I also heard his response was to sue the Florida bar but I don't know what for.

To me it's just a perfect example of all that's wrong with the US legal system really. Drama and wannabe celebrity lawyers making nuisances of themselves and rampant lawsuits.. It's just got everything included. Kind of like one of those convenient frozen TV dinners.

In addition to her recommendation that Jack Thompson be permanently disbarred with no opportunity for reinstatement, Judge Tunis recommends an assessment of $43,675 for the costs incurred by the Florida Bar in prosecuting his case.

That's both awesome and hilarious. The Florida bar was seeking only 10 years' disbarment, and the court gets so pissed off at Thompson that they recommend it be permanent!
