I only just noticed there was a sequel, from February last year ... at least in Germany. Drakensang : The River of Time (hell there is already an expansion too). THQ has an English version out on Steam, but Steam doesn't want to sell it to me (neither D2D.co.uk or the EU version of gamersgate ... I don't see boxed versions for the European market either). The German publisher has repurposed their webserver for the international version of Drakensang to a new game without removing the old domain name.

Given the marketing for this game you'd think it was absolute dreck, but hey ... maybe not? Anyone tried it.

PS. I was wrong, I can buy the boxed versions for 20 Euro.

The first one was good. Didn't know they'd released an English version of the second one. I'll get it when I have the time.

    I liked this quote
"it's a romp, not an agony of self-discovery."

If you do go for it, D2D have a 20% sale off everything right now.

Thinking about it, but I saw it still had the complete lack of collision detection like Drakensang ... which annoyed me a bit.

OMG I forgot how annoying combat was in this game ... AI which always targets the lowest AC without any effective forms of battlefield control make me a sad puppy.

You have to wonder about Bioware ... first a protagonist who drinks a concoction to become a monster hunter a couple of years after the Witcher, then a game framed by the retelling by a dwarf a year after Drakensang River of Time.

I'm getting a little past the point of believing in coincidences.

Can't speak for DA2, but didn't DAO begin developement long before the Witcher was released?

DA2 I can believe it as it feels like they spent all of 1 year, if that, developing it. :p

Unless development on it began during DA:O's development, they had maybe a year and two months on it.
