Is Gran Turismo natively 1080p?

I think racing games like GT5 is possible to be rendered at 1080p on the PS3 instead of having to upscale it from 720p like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, however, my friend keeps telling me no games on the PS3 can be rendered natively at 1080p without any sort of upscaling trick, is this true?

GT HD is not full HD. It is 1440*1080 but other game are in full HD 1920*1080.

I heard on GAF that GT5 will be 960X1080 but I think GTHD was 1920X1080. so it's definitely possible but it doesn't make sense. I think NBA Street has a 1080P and 720P mode.

1920x1080p is possible your friends are wrong.

GT HD is 1440*1080. But yamauchi say that the goal is to have full HD(1920*1080) for GT 5.
