PS. Iscarot also posted this; sorry buddy, didn't see it untill after I posted this.

Tekken series has taken a nosedive sales-wise.

Good. They're poop.

Disappointing that Super Mario Sunshine won't be the best-selling title for any month. I figured they'd get September, but Madden and Kingdom Hearts easily outdid Mario.

unfortunately...most Sega games got 'poop' sales too

Also, is it just me, or those sales number are "tamer" than I expected? US market is supposed to be the largest. Yet, those numbers aren't too convincing. hmm...

selling 200,000 copies in around 7 days for Tekken 4(release day was Sept. 24/25) isnt p00p folks...it isnt Tekken of old maybe but its not bad. And my prediction of Sly Cooper sales was correct, unfortunately :-?

don't worry about it Vince 8)

Go Federation vs Zeon!! :D

Kind of funny that it outsold Terminator on PS2, and Robotech on XBX, despite their heavy advertising! Heheh, either way, >30k is pretty bad no matter how you look at it. I'm surprised to see so many hyped and previewed games fall flat on their faces, kind of sad really (even if they are bad).

If it has been released at the start of September it would have been easily top with 600k, it just so happens it was released at a bad time for being top in monthly sales.

It was released less then a week before the end of the month, so while all its enitial sales were in August all the rest of its sales were in September, so its 30 day says were split over two months. As I said if it had been released at the start of September or August is would have gotten all those sales in one month and been top by quite a bit. I think its selling well. Nearly 2 million world wide (maybe more) and it should keep selling strongly over time, bring on christmas sales. SMS's sales should be at almost 4 million by the end of the year!

I'm completely disillusioned with Bethesda. 222,000 in sales for the Xbox version of Morrowind and they haven't so much as apologized for all the bugs in the game that can never be patched.

Screw'em. I'll never buy a Bethesda product again.

Ozy: Mmhmm, yeah. It's funny how you suddenly care about SMS.. ;) :-?

I think it's pretty evident by this point that I'm just expressing psuedo-sympathy

Honestly, with a camera and presentation like that I don't really feel that Mario Sunshine deserves the sales that Mario64 had. Reviews certainly haven't been nearly as high as SM64's, so I don't think I'm alone in feeling like that.

Yeah, SMS and SM64 are separated by 3% on GameRankings. That's a huge difference between games. :)

SMS camera > SM64 camera.

I dunno. I liked the SM64 camera, and dislike the Sunshine camera.

The one thing I like about Sunshine over 64 is the beach atmosphere. At least it's original. Shiggy has a problem with unoriginal design and themes, and it was good to see him take a different direction.

Surely you like FLUDD? Its great to be able to jet about the place. I think it adds quite a bit to Mario and personally I hope they keep FLUDD in all future Mario games, or at least have it in at some point (like an upgrade you can find or something).

Jetting around is neat. Hovering around, and you get plenty of water in your pack.

But FLUDD's voice kills me. It's horrid.

Yes the voice is really stupid, but that doesn't really matter AFAICS. It doesn't effect the gameplay at all, I just ignore it myself.

What voice ?? He only spoke at the beginning, and nowhere after up to the current 46 shines score I get.

SMS is fun and everything. Camera were bad until I realized I have 2 hands.

There are only two ways that SM64's camera is superior to SMS's, period.

A. The SMS camera is slightly lazier at times.. barely.

B. SM64's R button actions.. fixed camera and "close up" views.

You gotta go back to SM64, man.. try it out. You'll see how much nostalgia has blurred your view. I mean, I'm not putting the SM64 camera down.. it was amazing for its time. SMS's is just as good today, though. A bit wonky in some spots, and there's no auto-adjust (for when trees/scenery block your view) but a flick at the C stick or pressing the L trigger fixes this stuff.

The voice you just mentioned, the one at the start. Its a stupid voice, its annoying. But as I said it doesn't matter one bit, mostly because you only hear it twice anyway.

I had virtually no problems with the camera. Just because you have to adjust it a lot doesn't mean that it's bad. I've played many 3D-platformers which tried a more or less automatic camera-system and I had a lot more handling-problems with those games. SMS's camera is almost completely manual but I'm convinced that currently this is still the only way to go in games like this - mainly because the perfect automatic camera for 3D-platformers like SMS has yet to be invented. The manual camera gives the player the necessary freedom to adjust the it exactly how they want and how they feel comfortable with it before doing a tricky jump. Players who don't bother doing this will, of course, fail when it comes to the trickier stunts.
