Importing European Console Games

Just a quick one... can my german consoles (ps2,gc,xbox) play all pal releases or is their respective region lock country based. I am interested in buying some games abroad, yet some online shops state things like "pal, plays only on uk ps2...".

I think there's only three areas for console games, Japan, US and Europe. Inside those areas they should work. Atleast to my knowledge. You got dubbed games in Germany or why you seeking to import them from the UK?

UK releases should work flawlessly on all PAL-consoles (which includes german consoles).

There are mainly two reasons for importing games in german speaking countries:
-Dubbed games: Horrible translations and bad voice actors are common.
-Cut Versions: Germany has very strict laws when it comes to violent games so publishers tend to release cut versions (no - or even worse: green/yellow/blue - blood, robots instead of human opponents etc.) there to avoid attracting the attention of the government in the first place.
