Many of those DX11 supported titles do feature DX10/10.1 modes too, even if not mentioned (example being WoW, if you select DX11 on DX10(.1) card, you get SM4 shaders on DX11 runtime

interesting....why is this so? DX9/SM3 was very deep rooted when it got fazed out..and DX10 has like a unified shaders arch that needs another layer to interpret discrete shaders of SM3? ...like to know more....

It would be senseless to support hardware that the IHVs have abandoned.

Ya but I'm still hoping that X1600XT can now demonstrate its 3:1 ALU future proof value advantage ;) Deliver 8fps, beating 7600gt's 7fps maybe?

Here's what a native DX10/11 game looks like:

Another great looking video for B3 but it's a pity the tanks don't leave tracks.

Yeah, that's one of the major limitations of DX11 currently. I hear DX12 will have hardware support for tank tracks.

I don't know if someone is still interested, but dx9 hardware is not usable in TW2, because of artefacts and missing textures:

I had also a link for a 7900gtx, but I can't find it anymore. Gonna post it if I find it again.

  16. Why is that a complaint?

Tesselation, when properly used, translates into substantially better looks without so much of a performance hit.
Almost every other visual features can be done with DX9, afaik.

And you can do it with ray trace software rendering as well, doesn't mean it is efficient to do so. Isn't that the point of a lot of DX10/11 features and the corresponding hardware capabilities?
