This player seems to be the answer all us hdtv owners have been waiting for...

EXCEPT those who have hdtvs that dont have dvi-in... LIke me...

Of course the player doesnt support any new hd standards but upgrading the visual quality of current dvd collections is a must for any next gen player... not many of us are ready to buy into new media... dvd is fine and if it can still be upgraded to a 1080i output then samsung and others should take note of the millions of hdtvs sold without dvi...

More on topic, I would be surprised if some of the better HDTVs aren't already using smart (edge based) upscaling techniques to display SDTV as HDTV.

Check out AVS forums. A lot of people have had trouble with this item.

well my tv has progressive scan built in... Most sets do now. This tech could easily be used to upgrade the digital mpeg 2signals from sat \cable tho which would be cool... First time Ive seen it tho...
