    yea, I get the same fps, at least nv3x gets depth of field and other original shader effects. :eek:

    Confirming: the zip is corrupted.

    Colourless: could you explain why on nV3X we can see the depth of field effect working?

    Let me see if I know how the dof works on nvidia and not radeon 9x00 cards right now... The nvidia cards are using larger in code shaders than the radeon 9x00 cards are capable of handling, so colourless created substitute shaders.

    It might be a possibility!
    But, man, it runs slow :p

    Sorry about the broken ZIP file. I've reuploaded it.

    Anyway the reason why the NV3x cards have Depth Of Field is they are using the actual shaders. They don't need the modified ones.

    In some of the shaders that I modified for the R300 I broke the depth of field cacluations (hey, every instruction counts and getting rid of DOF calcs reduces required instructions). Also the shader that was used to do the final depth of field blurring was also too big, so I just made it do nothing.

    the r300rubyrap.zip is corrupt..

    ! C:\Documents and Settings\x\Desktop\r300rubyrap.zip: The archive is corrupt

    But looks good so far on my R9800XT 256MB @ 480/800MHz and 1GB PC4400 3.6GHz Prescott Waterchilled system 8) ... with some missing shaders, caused by the zip corruption, she looks a bit wicked without eyeballs, though :roll:

    Hope there will be a new file, that isn't corrupt. I downed it several times, but with the same result.

    Keep up the good work!! I have a feeling that you can make her look just as good as on the X800.

    colourless - dont know if you spotted - but it IS rendering the DOF on radeons - just not transfering the effects from the buffers or something.

    use debug mode and you can see it rendering the various effects in the various buffers etc.

    hey you probably know this already, but thought i'd mention it...

    edit: press T in debug mode and you can see in the lores buffer that everything has been blurred for example..

    As i said in my post above, I broke 'some' of the DOF calcuations. If I enabled the combining shader things wouldn't look quite right. Some things might be blurred when they shouldn't be, or not blurred when they should be.

    Did a FRAPS 2.1 bench with my setup running R300rubyap.
    Sys spec:
    Radeon 9800 XT 480/800MHz, P4E 3.6GHz, 1 Gb PC4400

    Ruby is @ running:

    resolution = 1024x768
    multisampleType = 4
    fullScreen = T

    FRAPS 2.1 Output:

    Frames: 3343 - Time: 102170ms - Avg: 32.720 - Min: 17 - Max: 121

    Looks awesome! But are sure you aren't able to make her face a little brighter. Her bright eyes kinda sticks out...

    Thanks a lot Colorless for making the nv3x work! It looks great on my 5900(aside from the banding), but boy does the framerate suck.

    Now if Nvidia would just release their Nalu demo I can watch a slideshow of her too. 8)

    Just thought I'd add another data point:

    Radeon 9800, Cat 4.4.

    Followed the installation procedures and it works great!

    EDIT:

    I did find one problem though: I get a crash during the texture load screen if I add the "-debug" command line switch:

    Code:
    //=====================================================
    // ATI Sushi Error Log Created 5/7/2004 10:41 pm
    //=====================================================
    [Main.cpp] (line 894): Exception caught - BAD NEWS!

    Naw, The demo still cracks the HD,

    One thing I noticed tho, The first loop through the Demo my FPS are about 1-3 and I miss alot of frames.

    The Next loop. FPS are 5-10 and its actually renderable. And there arent many skipped frames due to HD swaps.
