My PC mobo (Asus P4P800-X) after 7 days of inactivity (unpluged too) is refusing to work.
The green LED is on and the fan is running, but no POST. nothing in the screen.
I keep trying to turn it on and sometimes it continuaslly beep (IIRC one long and two short beeps ciclically). The mobo manual has no troubleshoot information.
I am going to try clean it with isopropilic alcohol tonight.

Really need some help/idea. Thanks.
I am using a friend internet connection, and I will be back later.

Unplug everything but the basic hardware and use one memory stick in a different slot. Best way to nail down a problem.

YOu could have a dead or weak CMOS battery. There very cheap to buy like $1.50 so pull the old one out and stick it on your tongue and see if you can fell a voltage on it like the same as a 9V battery but not as bad. If you have a volt meter that would be better and cheek for 3.2V to 3.1V. If its lower then that then its time for a new battery.

Asus it realy bad about not posting on a low or dead CMOS battery.

First: Search the error code online. Manuals hardly ever have anything beyond a features list these days.

Second: Clear the CMOS.

Third: Go one by one through the components seeing if it changes anything.

Thanks all for your help, but unfortunatelly the mobo died
I tried everything and also asked for some professional help.

In the end I upgraded to a new value PC (Asus AM2 mobo, Athlon 64 3500, 1GB ram)
I will do further upgrade in the near future.
Again thanks a lot
