Yeah; to be fair, those two observations are not unrelated. I think we hope to provide an even more robust "resource function" than is currently the case (the awesome "3D Tables" being another example of current offering of what I mean by that) going forward. . .and that certainly includes working hard at making the archives user-friendly as the volume increases.

Very nice. Hexus has become a great addition to the list of my go-to places for videocard and tech stuff and I have to say that it is in a large part due to Rys' articles.

    Congratulations, Rys. :)

Rather than come over as a moaning minnie, I'll explain my previous comment on the archive:

    1. Can only sort by one column. e.g. It's not possible to peruse all reviews (item type) of 3D graphics cards (category) manufactured by Asus (title).
    2. The Quick Finder suffers from the same problem, but worse. It's not obvious whether an "article" was a review or a news item (at least under Firefox).
    3. The "Quick" Finder is anything but. Of course this is a function of volume, but a filter on the item types before launch might be a good idea.

Anyhow, it's good to hear that the combined team will be paying attention to issues such as this :)

Congrats mate! B3D is in safe hands - best of luck.

P.S. If I see IntelliTXT on B3D I will personally drive to Sheffield and kill you where you stand.

You're no Olympic sprinter yourself, chubbs

Cheers one and all for the support and congrats since I said hello, it means a hell of a lot and I'm fairly embarassed by it if I'm honest. Had lots of congrats, both here and elsewhere, public and private, and I thank one and all from here for it all. I won't forget the 13th July 2006 in a hurry, that's for sure!

Glad Wavey got there in one piece, seems he's settling in more than nicely (they're making him use an NVIDIA graphics board in his work PC though, hahaha!) , and I'm doing the same settling in thing here, so it's still steady as she goes right now.

As for site changes: no, it won't look like HEXUS, it won't be ad-infested to the point of uselessness, no we won't carry IntelliTXT (although I'd love for you to try, MuFu  ) and no, things won't change so you won't recognise the place. I certainly understand the need for B3D to carry on in a similar fashion, but we must also grow the thing so it does something useful for all concerned.

So that means a new, clean, easy-to-navigate (and publish from!) site that's quick to load, easy on the eye and easy to use. But that'll also (probably, haven't decided on final placement yet) mean a new ad spot or two, or ad spots in new places at the very least, for folks to get used to. Sorry we need to make a few quid now and then, we'll try to be quiet about it!

I'm a B3D user first of all, so it'll still be what you all expect, just it might look a bit nicer (heaven forbid!) and be easier to use, with more to reference and interact with. In short, we're building a better B3D, absolutely.

Cheers again for all the support, from wherever it came (saves me creating thank you threads and emails everywhere, while I sit on my fat arse dying in the heat), much appreciated and won't be forgotten

I'm late to the party here, but big congrats to everyone with promotion and advances (Wavey too - it's nice to be head-hunted!).

With regards B3D's future, when you say 'growth' and 'new things', I'm curious what things exactly? Where is there for 3D to grow outside of what's already covered? Are you looking to diversify into more technical commentaries beyond just 3D hardware (an alternative to Anandtech)? Some decent processor reviews would be nice what with fancy new multi-core processors starting their rise to become the norm. Or is it all top secret and we'll just have to wait and see?!

Without giving the game away before we even get started on Life After Wavey, it'd be folly for us to stick to consumer graphics and nothing else. Wavey put the feelers out with his Xenos piece, and we'll take that and run with it into more than just the consumer (and console) spaces.

As for analysis of CPUs and the like, stay tuned......

Exactly. If you didn't take Beyond 3D 'beyond 3D' you might even have to sue yourself. Folly, indeed.

Congrats, and looking forward to seeing whatever great things that are to come.

Wavey couldn't have reached a better decision IMHO.

Dammit I missed the front page again...

Congrats and can't wait to see the direction Beyond3D will take in your hands.

No doubt in a few years time you will annonce you will be leaving for a job with Intel/AMD-ATi/4dfx/NVIDIA/SiS/VIA/ImgTech or something ;)
