HD DVD playback problem

I was trying to play chronicles of riddick HD-DVD and I can't seem to play it using my panel's native resolution of 2560x1600. It only displays a partial zoomed image of the movie on the right side of the display while the left side remains black.

I can temporarily fix this problem by moving to a lower resolution, such as 1920x1080. I'd like to use the native resolution all the time though.

What could it be. The power-dvd software? Ati drivers?

2560x1600? So we're talking a 30"? I believe the discussion is that no current vid card handles HDCP with those panels right now at full res. It's a combination of issues with the panel and the vid cards. Not even G80 will do it, tho R6xx has been rumbled in places to deal with it, if I recall correctly.

If you purchase AnyDVD HD then I believe it allows you to play back Blu-ray and HD-DVD content at full resolution without HDCP support.

well hd is 1920x1080
if your trying to run it at 2560x1600 it will be scaled losing detail
for the best experience play them at 1920x1080

Upscaling it should lose him any detail.

However he'd have to switch to 1280x800 (the resolution 30" panels use for single link DVI), in which case he would be losing detail.

Using AnyDVD HD to strip the HDCP requirement is probably he best bet.

Hey Geo you should know better than quoting like that :)

Anyways, this is the display I'm using:

I'm not sure if I described the problem clearly enough. I can't seem to take screenshots of video content so here, let me describe it to you guys by drawing with paint a close enough approximation of how it looks:

If this was what it was supposed to look like:

This would be what I'd be getting:

I'll try the anyDVD HD thing though, hadn't heard of such a thing before, thanks!
