I liked the viddy, very "FUCK YOU NVIDIA!"-ish. :)

The video is excellent... but they've calculated wrong!

in Vantage the X2 is actually 28% faster (not just 22%)

in Call of Duty 4 again - 28% faster

and in Lost Planet it's 55%, not 35%

    ;)

In Vantage Extreme it's more like 60% in reality.

Most likely a mistaken reference to the filtering used, confused with AA instead. Although I though you can't force AF with VHQ settings in Crysis so who knows?

It is fixed at least on Cat 8.6 / HD3850 / Vista x64 combo, at least when using SSAA flavor of Adaptive AA

Yeah Crossfire offers up to 16x AA (think Super AA ).

Yep, the X2 is a great card, as it should be, its 2 GPUs playing against 1. Noone here would pit a GX2 or 2x GTXs against a single 4870 in their right mind and not expect a clear winner. Why is this any different?

1 card. I expect that in the years to come you're going to need to get used to the idea of more than 1gpu on a card.

Die size & price comes to mind (even though thanks to the several cuts recently GTX280 is now clearly cheaper than X2)
Oh, and this is still just 1 card, 1 PCB

The people who think of the price or for that matter the same people who pitted the 7950GX2 against the X1950XTX.

And its still 2 chips. I'm not trying to knock the X2, just those singing its praise as if the results were not expected.

    Technically, it's 3 chips vs 2 -- 2 4870 + PCI Express Switch vs G200 + NVIO.

    4870 vs 9800 GX2 = 4870 mostly winner
    4870 vs 3870 X2 = 4870 winner

So its certainly not a given that a 2 chip card wins against a 1 chip card.

I don't think its fair they compare 800 sps to nvidias <200 sps. Talk about being unfair to nVidia!

And those 2 chips are still smaller together than that 1 chip from the competitor - and that's not even including their NVIO

Why not throw the Voodoo5 in there as well, as slower?:p Trans-generational comparisons aren't the best example in this case.
