I don't know if I would say terribly, but it doesn't seem like they used AA/AF which is a bit odd.

The setting used in that review were far worse than the card...

And the charts aren't sorted based on performance. Not a great review... >_<

Not really, looks to me drivers are not optimized for quad crossfire.

In this benchmark quad crossfire looks better!

The XSP being currently disabled is a bit annoying, and a very lame excuse such as "because that much bandwidth is not required with current applications" is even worse. There is clearly room still to be gained, so why not just give it to us now? Of course, that is all just PR speak for the reality which is likely "Driver support isn't ready for it." I really wish these companies would just be honest sometimes.

    Well, aren't they lately?

I remember the same talking, when the 3870 X2 launched, of why a PCIe 1.1 bridge is used and it was all around the "unnecessary" bandwidth that we shouldn't cry for.

Nobody likes spending money on stuff only to find they've paid out for something that isn't working one hundred percent.

I've also no doubt it's because the driver support isn't done. I'm expecting AMD will be using it once they've seen what the Nvidia response to 4870x2 is with the upcoming 200b.

    Gee, hadn't expected a 4850 X2
Presumably on the same card/heatsink combo?

I think the 4850 X2 will undergone some PCB redesign, due to some more strict wiring limitations imposed by the GDDR3 memory. And probably the power-supply circuity will be simplified (two 6-pin inputs?). AIBs should be a bit more happy with this X2 part, for some wider margins.

    Might they go single-slot too?
