The Amiga turned 25. Great machine, good memories (even if I had the Atari ST longer than the Amiga, but for all game types except 3D vector stuff the Amiga was better, particularly sound):

This 100 games in 10 minutes video brings back some fond memories (even if it doesn't necessarily pick what I thought were it's best games or took bits of video that show the games particularly well, and not having the original usually digitised (mod files) sound and music takes away a lot of the charm of the games)

I played I think at least half of these games either on the Atari ST or the Amiga (I had a friend who had an Amiga and I got an Amiga 600HD at some point myself). It misses some of my favorite time sinks from back then like Civ, some of the better Sierra games, and space sims Elite and Warhead.

Also nice, the old Super Stardust:

This should raise a few chuckles on this board (and then respect, if you consider how long ago this was made):

Ahh, the memories. The Amiga 500 was the computer I used to learn assembly language and the one I've had the most fun with. Kudos for posting the Hardwired video, classic among classics!

I actually remember that demo from way back then... Jeez, how many years has it been...?

There aren't enough squiggly swirly text scrollers these days. And RIP glenz vectors...

*sigh* I feel old.

Yeah, brilliant. Some of those games were total time sinks, F1GP, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, Cannon Fodder, SWOS, Desert Strike. Plus more like Skidmarks, and the Doom clones Gloom, Fears etc.

My first real hobbyist programming was in AMOS Professional and my first real 3D modelling in Real 3D. What a machine.

I'd love to see some of these old mouse driven games like Cannon Fodder and Syndicate brought to Move.

If you want to replenish memory, theres http://pouet.net/ and http://capped.tv/ http://demoscene.tv

Also coming Demoscene Documentary (in Finnish first, but YLE has promised subtitling) concentrating mostly on Finnish groups http://demoscenedoc.com/

Check out what Amiga3000 (ECS Chipset) can still do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9E63E1gY7fk :)

I remember this space movie/demo and how impressed I and my brother were when we saw it, especially the explosions in part 2 space battle :)

Lot's of good memories in arwin's montage video!

I remember not knowing a single word of English and wondering what that command prompt was good for. (Years later I read from a piece of paper how to start X-Wing in DOS.) Every pirated game I got with it (many) had these cool demos before the game started. :)
A friend owned a PC and showed me this song. It's German and explicit language.
