Well, I popped it into photoshop and adjusted the levels so that I could see the edges. The first thing I noticed was that there are very few near horizontal and near vertical edges (hmm, who is more likely to send Baron such a shot?). From the few horizontal/vertical edges I do see, it seems like horizontal is antialiased better. Finally, it doesn't appear to be gamma corrected (neither before nor after the levels adjustment). However, all these judgements are very iffy due to the poor shot selection.

My guess is also NVidia, 6x or 6xS, although the latter seems unlikely given Baron's fps clue.

My card isn't fast enough for aa... so the pic is plenty better then what I'm used to seeing. :(

What we need is for people to find the same location in Painkiller and compare screenshots. Any volunteers?

How about this--some time tomorrow, I post the second small image, Saturday I post the full image, and Sunday I post what card it's from, what AA settings, and the framerate?

Their really does appear to be inter pixel bleeding. So it is a sampling from outside each pixel so it either has a vary sparse grid or it is reusing samples ALA quinix or the higher sample version ( which is a 9-tap filter with 4 unique samples per pixel ).

I'm going to go against popular opinion on this one...

    ATI and a hybrid msaa/ssaa mode ala 2xS / 4xS

Okay. I'll do even better. No more screens of Painkiller... wait and see. (No, it's not an FSAA tester. Sorry. But it's definitely better for AA comparisons than Painkiller.)
