I was going to comment but I'll just quote a line from the conclusion which says the same thing.

Heh, it's an engineering sample with a double 8 pin connector. Quite interesting but without any context this is about as informative as, say, publishing benchmarks with the latest official Catalyst release.

It's clocked 101 MHz higher. That is still quite a bit of power though.

Oh, actually, saw that they downclocked it to the GTX 480 levels. Wow!

No it's not. It's clocked at exactly the same speed as the 480 card, Core/Memory/Shader 701/924/1401

Does DX11 enable anything other than tesselation in this game?

    MSI GTX 480 Lightning

MSI just launched new custom designed N480GTX Lightning in MOA 2010 worldwide finals. Card is designed for extreme-overclocking with 16 phases PWM, two BIOS chips, voltage measurement points and switches for higher voltages, OCP unlocker and PWM frequency.

GF100 GPU is overclocked to 750 MHz, CUDA cores to 1500 MHz and memory to 1 GHz (4,0 GHz GDDR5)

    Card is equipped with 2 x 8pin + 1 x 6-pin PCI Express power connectors, 2 x 9 cm fans and 5 heatpipes.

Check out first pics of VGA, PCB design and cooler:

I just thought of a brilliant MSI marketing strategy for this card. "Save on your winter heating bills, buy the GTX 480 Lightning!"
