Not that many care about non-gaming apps, but how about some F@H performance on the opposite side of the spectrum? G92 slaughters Hemlock/Cypress here, let alone GF100.

Anyone got the actual area of the chip? Annand review only mentioned 500+mm2, which is very large but not suprising from looking at all the photos.

530 ? wow, that would still make a large chip even on the next node.

So the rumour was true, that the DP-Performance of the desktop Fermis is limited?

It looks like the iXBT review is the only one review, which mentions this.

10-15% performance advantage over 5870, about 20% more cost and more power consumption. The average frame rates are a bright spot. Overclocking seems to be about 800Mhz on core up from 700.

Comments from the websites reviewing it seem rather spread out. Some like the 470, some don't for instance. Some think it is excessively noisy, some don't.

We'd be a lot more excited if this had been released first.

it's disappointing and boring game! I don't think that anyone would use it if it didn't have neat benchmarking utill with in!

remember how original FEAR stayed as a benchmarking game for so long, and FEAR 2 (project origin) was barely used! Only reason for these two things was presence or lack of easy benchmarking in the game!

Bah! He should have fired up Crysis in 2560X1600 , 16xAA, 16x AF. I hope they pull 400W for GTX495, add the

    PancakeX by Nvidia

feature and then proceed to lockout other gpu vendors in their drivers in the name of QA.

I hope this sends a STRONG message to ANYONE trying to design nuclear reactor-on-gpu's for whatever ends. GPU power requirements have been growing in uncontrolled manner for a long time now. :mad:Pimping kitchenware on the sly while I am shopping for gpu's is deceptive marketing.

I for one, will be very happy if PCI-SIG pulled the power limit down to 150W for PCIe3. Both IHV's have been running wild with power (and consequently heat) for a long time now.
