Page 32 and 33 get into it quite nicely without all the examples.

I really can't be arsed to read the patent document. But temporal sorting would have to be for the motion-blur-specific ray tracing techniques that NVidia accelerates, wouldn't it?

Some updated Guardian's of The Galaxy ray tracing benchmarks, it's interesting to note that both the 3070 and 3060Ti are faster than 2080Ti at this title. The 3070 is a crazy 20% faster than 2080Ti at all resolutions, while the 3060Ti is 5% faster.

This in turn makes the 3070 faster than the 6900XT (by about 5%), while generally the 3080Ti is ~60% faster than 6900XT.

At CES 2022, the tech industry’s biggest trade show, we’re announcing that RTX technologies are coming to The Day Before, Rainbow Six Extraction, Escape From Tarkov, SUPER PEOPLE, Hitman III, Voidtrain, The Anacrusis, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, Ratten Reich, and Midnight Ghost Hunt.

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/ces-january-2022-dlss-rtx-games-updates/

They also announced the release date for The Day Before, 21st of June

Also, a small 4k snippet for God of War. Looks like its gonna play amazing with mouse/keyboard. A dev also twitted a few weeks ago how wild it feels to play the game with m/kb after its been shackled to pads since the frachise exists

The game needs more VRAM than 8GB in this mode.
2080Ti being 200% of 3070 highlight this well.

At 1440p the 3080Ti is 82% faster than 6900XT, this is one of those brutal differences! The 2080Ti is also faster than 6900XT.
At 2160p the 3080Ti becomes 92% faster than 6900XT, the 2080Ti remains faster too.

Keep in mind these results are without DLSS, which is the final performance target for the game, at 1440p with DLSS Quality, the 3080Ti can do 80fps, and 47fps at 2160p. Same situation as Cyberpunk.

The game looks leaps and bounds better with RTGI, without it, the lighting is so last gen. The shadows are also might impressive with RT, especially for foliage. Dying Light 2 is definitely one of the notable application of RT, alongside Metro, Control, Cyberpunk, Minecraft and Quake 2.

This is at 4K only, 8GB GPUs run out of memory at this resolution when running RT.

The PC version of Dying Light 2 is a true next gen upgrade over the consoles thanks to RT.

And here am sitting with my 2018- 2080Ti still rocking on. Im more and more inclining this GPU will last the entire generation, its packing alot of raw power, very good ray tracing performance and has all the features such as DLSS aswell.
The only thing id be looking at upgrading might be the Zen2, but even the CPU is still capable enough, maybe for the entire generation aswell (upgraded 2019).

A huge difference indeed. Its a true next generation experience seeing it on YT (i dont have it yet). Doubt it will beat CP2077 on PC with all of its settings/RT maxed though, that still stands at the top of best graphics so far for gaming.

In it's own way the image on the left seems more plausible because it attempts to depict indirect diffuse lighting ...

Yeah why is the wall on the right in the RT shot so dark? It’s like they turned off the ambient light but forgot to turn on the indirect RT bounce.

It is not in any way a next gen experience. The geometric detail, physics, LOD, interactivity and textures are pretty much still rooted in last gen.

Yes, the lighting looks nice on PC with RT, but even that could be better. It appears to be a single bounce RT solution, so some spots appear too dark similar to the old Metro Exodus.

So yeah, eating a ton of performance for practically no reason. Lighting wise, Metro EE is a lot better and runs much faster as well.

While technically true, it still looks outdated compared to the RT shot.

See the comparison shots in this link, the difference is staggering.
