Personally I think it's the next step up from all the other heavy hitters for pure on screen graphics oomph. The highs of this game is the highest of anything I've seen this gen, I understand it doesn't reach the best in every single category but aside from a couple of spots it really does give you that offline CG rendering feel even more than The Order or Horizon ZD. The lighting engine, volumetrics, character rendering, gpu particles, texturing and assets in general are truly astoundingly good.

Ah yes of course, so far all the pictures are from the early hours which most reviews have covered them already. I'm not gonna spoil anything major or late in the game.
 
Also shouldn't this be in either games or tech? It doesn't have much to do with the Console Industry, does it? Well outside of the Console Industry being what makes console games. But then console games seems far more appropriate.

Well it is an industry leading graphics showcase so it's only appropriate to have it here for recognition. Not that I would mind if mods move it to elsewhere.

Do excuse the slightly overexposed HDR captures but what can you do. Just a small taste of the whole game.
 
I know this might be a little crazy but do you think Misterxmedia was right about the secret dark silicon 2nd gpu layer, only it was on Sony's SoC the whole time? :runaway: Sony is a Japanese company and Japanese do have that stealthy ninja past, perhaps Sony shinobi'd on a 2nd gpu layer. :oops:
 
Whatever it is you can see a 1.84 TF machine is been slave labored to hell and back to function like a 6 TF machine :), SSM's cruelty knows no bounds.
 
For 99% of time it doesn't stutter tho I had a couple of odd occasions where it did, played on locked 30fps Resolution mode by the way.
 
The only thing I don't love is the water rendering on the lake.

Agree, it's the weakest point of the game and seriously the water sometimes looks really bad. It is so obvious that Santa Monica could not miss it. In my opnion, the water is the result of a lack of time because it really stands out compared to the rest of the game.

I even prefer the water in HZD because it is far more consistent. At its best, the water rendering is good in God of War, but at its worst, i can't remember such a bad looking water in recent games.
 
Good god this game in Photo Mode is borderline next gen. You can finally appreciate all the artwork and techs in the most ideal angles.
