    Alright guys, not sure how well this is going to work here but if you've bought the Orange Box and already owned Half-Life 2 and/or Half-Life 2 Episode 1 you're given the opportunity to gift your extra copies. This just rolled out this morning (restart Steam to get the message).

    So here is how we are going to do this. If you have either game on offer post to say as much and I'll add you to the list below. If you would like copies, please post with a quick explanation of why you're interested. Who the copy goes to is of course up to each offerer but I recommend favoring active community members with more than a passing interest in the games.

    Procedure:
    1) Decide who you wish to give your copy to.
    2) PM them and ask for an email address.
    3) In Steam Go to Games --> Manage Gifts & guest passes
    4) Send the game gift(s) to the member's email address.
    5) Post (or PM me) that your gift has been given and who to so I can update the list.

    Offering:
    bobthebub (HL2)
    ShaidarHaran (HL2)
    philoni (HL2, EP1)

    Requesting:
    bigsilly (EP1)
    Sxotty (EP1)
    the maddman (EP1)
    bystander (EP1)
    Kaotik (EP1)
    Unknown Soldier (HL2, EP1)

    Complete (since DB issues):
    Quitch -> bigsilly (HL2)
    Mendel -> hoho (HL2, EP1)
    BrynS -> the maddman (HL2)

    I'm looking for a HL2:EP1 key if anyone feels generous and has one, I want it for HL2 deathmatch so I can edumacate my son on the finer points of fragging. He's been using my copy and getting cocky, I'm interested to see if he's really that good.... ;)

    BTW - Great idea for a thread Gnerma!

    I just sorted digi out with EP1, and I've got the HL2 one left. Add me to the list, Gnerma, it's free to anyone who wants it.

    Strange! I thought that I had been included in this thread, requesting either or both, but now I see that I am removed? :( Very odd... Am I no longer elligible?

    If you wrote after 10'th October your post has been lost together with pretty much everything else as there were some problems with database.

    My post where I said I'd like to have those games was also lost so I post again :)

    I would like a copy of Episode one as well if anyone has one.

    I figured that otherwise I would wait for episode 3 to come out as it is supposedly the last before I jump in for it.

    I've never even seen HL2. I'm getting to old to keep up to date with everything. I'll take a copy of HL2/EP1 if anyone has one free.

    Do I need to have a Steam account before it's sent? And how well will HL2 run on a Athlon 64 3000+ with a X800XT?

    Not sure about the Steam account thing, very easy to create anyway (and doesn't require you to own any Valve games). The game will run extremely well your hardware, it came out when the 9800 Pro/XT was top end afterall.

    I've been out of the loop for quite a while. I'll probably create a steam account tonight and see if anyone else has a spare copy. Might give me a reason to actually turn on my desktop again :D

    Actually it came out just after the R420 and NV40 (X800s/6800s) were launched into retail. You're problably confused cause of the silly voucher thing which was for the R3xx based cards.

    Ok so pretty much everything that happened in this thread was wiped by the database issues. Starting over with just the posts since the forums came back online. If you'd previously posted please repost. Otherwise the first post is current. Lets give some copies away guys, I know there were some of you offering...

    I've got HL2 but never got round to buying HL2:EP1 if anyone got a spare key for HL2:EP1 it would be gratefully received. :)

    Just a note, HL2 gifts do not contain Counter-Strike: Source. I've known a lot of people personally who were disappointed with this. Since HL2 came with it in retail you'd think the gift might, but it doesn't.

    That's because the orange box doesn't include Cs:s either.

    Anyways, anyone who really wants HL2 and ep1, PM me with the necessary details and I'll see if I can set you up in a day or two.

    Sorry guys I hadn't checked this since I posted and had not realized my post was unclear.

    I have HL2 (and already gave away my extra 2 copies I got with processors and graphics cards etc...) I just don't have episode one.

    I apologize for those that I have confused.
