This sort of stuff sounds interesting but, in common with algal biofuels, the problem is in moving it from the lab into production. I understand that solving problems with bioreactors remains a considerable engineering challenge.

Cellulosic Ethanol is a lot more interesting than a diesel replacement ... I doubt it has much advantage over bio-diesel from vegetable oil.

why do you think ethanol is better than cellulosic diesel/gasoline?!
The advantage is that they claim E.Coli able to produce fuel even from wood pieces

Yes, well they haven't even proven that in the lab yet ... I was just focusing on what they actually had done.
